Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your Memorial Day. Ours is on the cool side, only going to hit the high 60's and cloudy, which is very unusual for us. I sat down to post my card for the masculine birthday card challenge over at Birthday Sundaes, and I see I hit the 100 follower mark!!! woo hoo!!!! Thank you all for following my little blog and all the sweet comments everyone has left. I will choose the winner later today and post the results. Good luck!! Now, on to the recipe for my card:

New Challenge Blog - Cricut 360 Design Team Call

Hello again! I read about this new challenge blog on one of the blogs I follow. I thought I'd give it a shot at trying out for the design team call. The blog is called Cricut 360 and they have a design team call going on until June 1st. The challenge is to make a project using lime green and a bug of some kind. For my bug I went to the Live Simply cartridge and picked this cute snail. I'm not big on snails in my yard, but this little guy is cute! Here's the recipe for my card:

Recollection Cardstock
DCWV pattern paper
Martha Stewart border punch
Stickles
White Gelly Roll pen
Stampin' Up black ink
Ribbon from the Dollar Store
My Pink Stamper sentiment stamp
Peachy Keen Face Stamp

Hope you like my card and that you head over to Cricut 360 and check out all the cute submissions. Wish me luck!! And as always, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Hello everyone! Hope your holiday weekend is going well. We're just staying home this weekend, so I'm hoping to get some scrapping and cards done. I wanted to share a layout I made in 2009 in remembrance of my dad. He passed away on Veterans Day in 2008, which was ironic since he was the most patriotic man I know. It's been almost 3 years, but I still miss him a lot. I hope that as everyone is enjoying their weekend of camping or BBQ's or whatever you are doing, that you will remember those who have given so much so that we have the freedom to enjoy our lives. Thanks for stopping by!

Graduation Season

Well, it's that time of year again, graduation and this year we have some in our family. My middle daughter and her boyfriend are graduating from college and a friend's daughter is graduating from high school. It's hard to believe that one of my baby girls is actually graduating from college!! Here are two of the cards I made for the big day. The first one is for my daughter and the second for my friend's daughter.

                                          Recollection Cardstock
                                          DCWV Pattern Paper
                                          Michael's Ribbon
White and Black Gelly Roll Pen
                                           Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge
                                           Spellbinders Nestabilities
                                           Sentiment Stamp HOTP

                                          Recollection Cardstock
                                          DCWV Pattern Paper
                                          Everyday Paper Dolls
                                          Spellbinders Nestablilities
                                          Peachy Keen Face Stamps
                                          Stickles
                                          Sentiment Stamp from Scrappy Moms

                                           White Gelly Roll Pen
I have seen this format for descriptions of cards and thought I'd give it a try. Well, got a busy weekend ahead with all these graduations, so I won't be posting for awhile. Hope everyone has a great weekend and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Sundaes Challene #9

Hello everyone! How's your Wednesday going? What a difference 24 hours makes, yesterday nothing but rain and today all sunshine! Gorgeous day here in the north state!! Today I have a really quick card for the next challenge at Birthday Sundaes which was to include at least 3 circles. I used Recollection cardstock and DCWV pp, Stampin' Up punches for the tag, and a My Pink Stamper sentiment stamp. The little nail heads in the corner were from Walmart, but they don't carry them any more. And that's it, super simple card since I'm crunched for time tonight. I hope the rest of your week goes well and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Terrific Tuesday Challenge

Happy Tuesday!! Hope you have been having a good one. It's been a wet one here, rained all day. Too bad I had to be at work, would have been a perfect scrapping day!! lol  At least I had a chance to play in my room for a little while and finished up this card for the challenge over at Scrappy Mom's. The challenge is to use the Once Upon a Princess cartridge. The card base was made with Georgia Pacific cardstock, I know, quite the shocker that I didn't use Recollection! BUT, I did use Recollection cardstock for the yellow mat and part of the fairy. I also used Bazzil cardstock on the fairy. The wings were made with a scrap so I don't know the manufacturer. The little flowers are Prima flowers that I got from Joann's when I first started scrapping. The face stamp is from Peachy Keen Dolly Dumplins set. The pp is from DCWV Nana's Kids. I also added Stickles to her dress and the corner of the card, and the stitching was done with one of my Zig markers. The ribbon is from Michael's and the sentiment stamp is from the newest release of Scrappy Mom's stamps, Happily Ever After. VERY cute set and so appropriate for this challenge! Well, hope you like my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #8

Hello again! Thought I'd post another card I was able to finish for the Birthday Sundaes challenge which is a recipe calling for 2 pattern papers and 3 embellishments. The cardstock is from Recollection and the pp is from DCWV Celebration stack. The jewels are from Michael's, as is the ribbon. The twine is from the Twinery and the tag is a stamp and punch set from Stampin' Up. The sentiment stamp is from Hot Off the Press. I hope you like it and that you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

CCCC #17 - Give a Hoot

Hello all! Hope your Saturday is going well. I'm finally getting a chance to play in my room. Woo Hoo!!! I need to be working on graduation stuff, but oh no, had to finish this card first. I started earlier in the week when I had a few minutes, and I mean literally a few, so I wanted to get it done. It's for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge over at More Than Favors. This week's challenge is to use the Give a Hoot cartridge. So, since I don't own that one, I decided to use the 3 Birds Straight from the Nest cartridge. I like the challenges that use the older carts because it allows me to use what I already have! So, on to the card. The cardstock is Recollection (surprising, huh?!?) and DCWV pp. I chose the bird cage cut and then embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it a more wrought iron look to it. The chain on the cage is actually from some Halloween Dazzles from Hot Off the Press. I used my black Gelly Roll pen for the stitching and the sentiment stamp is from Pink by Design. Well, off to play some more. Hope you like my card and as always, thanks for stopping by!!!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!

Hello everyone! Hope you've enjoyed your NSD!! I was able to celebrate by playing in my room today. I know there were alot of blog challenges going on, but I stayed off the computer most of the day so that I could complete some cards and actually a layout or two. Here's a card I made for the everything goes challenge over at Birthday Sundaes. I used some paper from my new K & Co. stack that has some really cute papers in it. I used Recollection cardstock for the card base and the mat. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the mat. The flower was  made with the Stampin' Up Build a Bl ossom stamp and punch set. The button was from my stash and the twine is from The Twinery. The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper, and of course, some Stickles. Well, hope you enjoyed your NSD and my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!!

CCCC#16 Double Feature!!

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a good week so far. My E2 finally got here yesterday!! WOO HOO!!! I played around with it a little bit this afternoon. I'm going to LOVE this machine, once I get used to it that is! ;) A tiny bit of a learning curve, but I think that's more because I'm too impatient to read the manual!! lol Any way, I made this card before the E2 got here, so I'll have to make something else soon so I can use my new toy!!! So, back to the card.....this week's challenge was to use either the Pagoda or the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. I don't have the Pagoda, so you've got it, the Plantin Schoolbook. I have always like the font on that cart and have used it often. I chose the flower and leaf cuts and used Recollection and Bazzil cardstock. The pp is from the DCWV's Glam Girls stack. I added some super cute ribbon with peace signs that I got at Michael's and a Peachykeen Face stamp. The doodling was done with my white Gelly Roll pen and the stamp is from Pink by Design. And can you believe it? NO Stickles!!! *gasp!* hard to believe, huh??  hehe Well, hope you like the card, and thanks for stopping by.

Terrific Tuesday's Paisley Challenge

Good morning! I usually don't have time to post before I go to work, but I have an appointment this morning and won't be going into the office until later. Soooo....thought I'd make a quick post. I made this card yesterday for the Terrific Tuesday Challenge using the Paisley cartridge over at Scrappy Mom's. I LOVE their stamps, in fact, just ordered the Special Delivery set. Now I have every set they make!! woo hoo!! If you haven't purchased any, I highly recommend them, they are ADORABLE!!  I really enjoy the challenges that have you use older cartridges, it reminds me why I purchased them because they're so cute. I made this card using Recollection cardstock and pp from an older stack of DCWV. I used my Stampin' Up scalloped border punch for the mat and bling is from Michael's. I used a Scrappy Mom's stamp for the sentiment and my white and black Gelly Roll pens for the doodling. I used Stampin' Up dimensionals for the zebra. I always forget to mention the dimensionals and if you look at my prior cards almost all of them have raised images. Well, better run, have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Happy May Day!

Hello everyone! It's so hard to believe that today is the first of May!! Wow, this year seems to be flying by!! Well, hope everyone has been having a good weekend. I know that part of the country is dealing with some pretty harsh weather and my thoughts and prayers are with all of those that have lost so much. Well, today I was able to get a couple of cards made and wanted to post one of them. This card is actually for two challenges, one at Celebrate The Occasion, which was to make something for Mother's Day, and the other challenge is at More Than Favors CCCC #15 which was to use the A Child's Year Cricut cartridge. This card was made using Recollection and Bazzil cardstock, and the pp is from K & Co. I used my Nestabilites die cut for the sentiment tag and the sentiment is from Pink by Design stamps. It's a pretty simple card, but I really liked the colors. Well, I hope you all have an enjoyable week and as always, thanks for stopping by!
