I got my DCWV Stacks!!

Hello again all!! Fed Ex stopped by today to drop off the 3 paper stacks I won from DCWV Diary! Wow!! They are beautiful!!! Trust me when I tell you that when they hit the market you need to check them out!!! Sooooo, I decided that I had to create something with one of them. I knew I had to make it relatively simple since I'm supposed to be taking it easy, so this is what I came up with. I used a sheet from the Collage Musings stack to make a card for the Terrific Tuesday Challenge over at Scrappy Moms Stamps. The challenge was to create something from the Stand & Salute cartridge. I know it's almost the 4th of July, but I wanted to create something that wasn't all red, white, and blue, and this paper just caught my eye. All the sayings on them reminded me that without our freedom we wouldn't be able to enjoy any of the things mentioned. So, here's the recipe for my card:

Recollection Cardstock
DCWV Pattern Paper
Stand & Salute Cricut Cartridge
Scrappy Moms Sentiment Stamp
Stampin' Up Ink and Paper Punch
Color box Chalk Ink
Stazon Ink to recolor brads
Making Memories Star Brads

It was so nice to get in my room and play for awhile. Makes you appreciate it your health when things come up and you can't do what you are used to. Well, I hope you like my card and as always, thanks for stopping by!
White and Black Gelly Roll Pens for doodling

I was featured again!!

Good morning everyone!! Hope your week is going well. I'm still in the recovery mode and can't get around much, but sure have been enjoying my blog-walking and seeing everyone's creations! I found out this morning that my leopard purse shaped card was featured on Birthday Sundaes for the shaped card challenge last week!! I have to tell you, I had so much fun creating that card and I really think it's one of my all time favorite cards. In fact, it's going to be hard to give it away!! lol Guess I'll just need to make another to give to myself! ;) If you haven't been over to the Birthday Sundaes blog, you really need to stop by and check out all the talent that has been posted over there, there's some really cute projects posted!! Good morning all! Sorry I've been MIA, but I had some minor surgery last week and have been doing some serious lounging. What else can you do when your laying on the couch, but play on your laptop, right?!? lol  And one of the blogs I visited on Friday was DCWV Diary blog. Everyone knows how much I LOVE their paper stacks, so I entered into the drawing for the 2 newest stacks and I WON!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!! LOL I am soooo excited! Can you tell?!?!?  :)  Can't wait to get them in the mail!! Hopefully before too long I'll be able to play in my room, especially once my new stacks get here! Well, have a great week, and as always, thanks for stopping by!!!

Hello again. I was just blog hopping and realized that I had made another card this afternoon that I could post for the challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion. Party hat cut from Straight from the Nest
Recollection Cardstock
K and Co. Pattern paper
Ribbon from Michael's
Inkadinkado sentiment stamp
Stampin' Up ink
Stickles
Gelly Roll pen for doodling

Here's a picture of my scrappin' buddies today, Bear and Monster. Aren't they cute?? lol

Now it's time I head for bed, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day!

Hello everybody! Hope you all are enjoying your Father's Day. Beautiful day here in the north state, sunny and about 92ish. I would love to have spent the day with my dad, but he went to heaven almost 3 years ago. Sure do miss him, but I know he's enjoying Father's Day with the best Father ever!!

Earlier today while DH went to band practice I got a chance to play in my room and was able to finish up some birthday cards. I decided to use the one I made for my bff, who actually nicknamed me Sissy, for the challenge over at Birthday Sundaes. The challenge was to make a shaped card. I used my Gypsy to weld this cute purse from the Paisley cartridge. Every time I am able to make something like this, I am so happy I bought my Gypsy. I had quite the learning curve with it, but I stuck with it. I know there's still a lot I need to learn about it, but that comes with time like everything else. I really liked how this card turned out, especially the leopard print paper. We're always trying to out do each other on the leopard stuff that we get each other, and I think I may have topped her this year!! lol and to think, it all started with one pair of Birkenstock's that I bought about 5 years ago and we both have gone leopard crazy ever since! Here's the recipe:

Paisley Cricut Cartridge for shaped card base
Core'dinations and Recollection cardstock
Pattern paper from Joann's open stock
Recollection flower and rhinestones
Martha Stewart bakers twine
Colorbox chalk ink for distressing
Stampin' Up ink
Pink by Design sentiment stamps
Nestabilities die cut for tag

Hope you all have a great day and as always, thanks for stopping by.

Terrific Tueday Challenge - Sweet Treats

Hello everyone, hope your weekend is going well. I've a had a hectic week and haven't had too much time to play, but got to spend a little time in my room this afternoon. Made this card for the Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenge which was to use the Sweet Treats cartridge. I don't have that cartridge so I I thought I'd use my Simply Charmed cartridge. This one has such cute images! I used my Gypsy to hide the face on the pie so I could use one of Peachy Keen's face stamps. Speaking of Scrappy Mom's....have you seen the 2 new stamp sets they just released? SOOOOOOOO cute!!!! I LOVE their stamps so much, I have every single set. So, even though I said I was going to be good this month, I caved and order these. ;) But back to my card, I was going to make a gate fold card but changed my mind and went for the z fold instead. Here's the recipe:

Recollection cardstock
Pattern paper was scrap, pie pan DCWV and mats I can't remember
Pie cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge
Peachy Keen face stamp
Scrappy Mom's sentiment stamps, both inside and outside of card
Stampin' Up buttons and ink
DMC embroidery floss
Gelly Roll pen for doodling
Color box chalk ink for shading on pie
Stickles
Pebbles, Inc chalk for the rosy cheeks
Zig marker for coloring the tongue and cherry stem

Well, thanks for stopping by and be sure to head over to Scrappy Moms to check out their newest stamps! Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of your weekend!!

CCCC# 21

Happy Monday! I have a Garfield cartoon that shows Garfield in front of a cup of coffee looking haggard and Jon saying that to Garfield, and Garfield's response is "Monday, the mother of all oxymorons!" makes me laugh every time I read it!! Any ways....hope everyone has had a good day regardless. I was able to come home and play in my room a bit and made this card for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge over at More Than Favors. this challenge was to use the Accent Essentials cartridge. I've had it a long time and this may be the 2nd time I've used. There's some pretty cute stuff on it, should pull it out more often. Here's the recipe for my card:

The Paper Company cardstock for the card base and first mat
Bazzil Swiss Dot for the second mat
DCWV pattern paper from the Garden Party Stack
The Paper Company cardstock for the tag cut from the cartridge, I adjusted the size on my Gypsy
Hot Off The Press Flowers
Stampin' Up Ink
White Gelly Roll Pen for stitching
Pink by Design sentiment stamp

Well, hope you all have a great week and that you like the card. Thanks for stopping by.

One more for Sunday

Hello again everyone. I was able to get another card done for the embossing challenge over at Birthday Sundaes. The challenge was to use either dry or heat embossing so I thought I'd give it a try using ALL scraps!! Woo Hoo! Even the card base was made of scraps!! I did add some bling using my I Rock and the sentiment stamp was from an Inkadinkadoo set and the little birthday hat and present were stickers from a sheet that I had in my stash. I used the owl embossing folder from Provo Craft, he's so cute. I don't know why I don't dry emboss more, I really like the looks of it. Hope you all have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful Sunday!

Hi everybody! Hope your Sunday is going well. We are enjoying a beautiful sunny day with about 85 degrees. I'm enjoying it cuz I know it'll be in the 100's before I know it! So here's a card that I made for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #20 over at Two Scraptastic Gals using the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. Ever have one of those projects that you have just had trouble with and started over about 5 times? Yep, this one is it for me! And you'd think as simple as it looks it would have been a piece of cake to make! Oh well, here's the final product that I was able to say, "ok, this will work!" lol Here's the recipe:

Card base from Recollection
Anna Griffin pattern paper
DCWV Glitter paper
Stampin' Up border punch
Ribbon and gems from Michael's
Scrappy Moms Stamps sentiment stamp
Stickles
Gelly Roll pens in black and white for doodling

It's kind of hard to see the white glitter paper for the unicorn in the picture, but I really like how it looks in person. Hope you like the card, and that the rest of your Sunday is great! Thanks for stopping by!

One More for Saturday

Here's one more card for another challenge that ends in just a little bit, so I need to hurry. This card is for a challenge over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew. The challenge is for a vintage project, which is so not my style. It was really hard for me to create this, but I gave it a shot! I scrounged for some vintage type embellishments and came across some of my grandmother's sewing things. Here's the recipe for my card:

The Paper Company cardstock
The Girls Paperie pattern paper
The Girls Paperie image stamp
Unity Stamp sentiment stamp
Stampin' Up ink
Lace, button, needle, and needle threader from stash
Pearls from Michael's

Well, this is it for tonight, hope you like my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Saturday!!

Hello all! Hope your weekend is going well. I was able to play in my room some yesterday and again today. My kind of weekend!! :) I really need to finish my album from our anniversary trip last September, but I was working on cards for challenges. I just need more time to spend in my room, but work and chores just get in the way! lol So here's a card for 3 challenges, now that's what I call great coordination!! The challenges are for a Father's Day Card and the sites are Celebrate the Occasion, More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday, and Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday. Here's the recipe for my card:

DCWV pattern paper from The Guy Stack
Image from Father's Day cartridge (in Giant's colors of course!)
Gelly Roll Pens for doodling
Stampin' Up ink
Pink by Design sentiment stamp

Shocking that I didn't use Recollection cardstock, huh? Well, small confession here...I was at Joann's the other day and realized as I was buying some of their cardstock that I have purchased this in the past and mixed it in with my Recollection cardstock. oops! Oh well, newby here!!  :) Well, hope you like my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!!
