Another for Sunday

Hello again. I wanted to post this card I just made for the challenge over at Birthday Sundaes. They're having a blog hop today and the theme is Cakes and Cupcakes. Have you seen their new look? It's so cute. My card is pretty simple but I like it. I cut the cupcake from 3 Birds Straight from the Nest cartridge. The patterned paper for both the cupcake and the card mat is from DCWV and the cardstock is The Paper Company. I put some Glossy Accents on the cherry and Stickles throughout the cupcake and card and my White Sakura pen and a brown Zig pen for doodling. The sentiment stamp and the 3 owls on the branch are from a set that I think is Inkadinkado. Well, gotta run and start dinner. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by Birthday Sundaes and checkout the hop!

Good Sunday Morning!

Hello all! Hope your weekend is going well. It's been a hot one, so I've been hiding in my room. I made this card for my DGD's birthday next week. Hard to believe she's going to be 16!!! Yikes! I have been wanting to use my new Rock Princess cartridge and I thought it fit in with Challenge #5 - Transportation over at Cricut 360. Now, I know this isn't exactly the way you want a 16 year old to drive, but this is so opposite of her quiet personality that I thought it was perfect. Here's the recipe:

The Paper Company cardstock
DCWV Glamor Girl stack pattern paper
Image from Rock Princess
Ribbon and jewel from Michael's
Sentiment stamp from Scrappy Mom's Stamps
Swirl and Numbers stamps from stash
Stickles
Prima flowers
Sakura White Gelly Roll pen for doodling

Well, time to get my day started. Hope you have a great Sunday and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Cricut Cartridge Storage

Hi everyone! Hope your Friday is going well. I've been trying to condense my Cricut cartridge storage. A couple of weeks ago I was searching out ideas on Youtube and decided to go with the photo box/divider idea. The only problem I had was I didn't like how clunky they were in the boxes because of the actual cartridges. I liked the idea of the new Art Bin containers but I didn't want to spend that kind of money. So while running errands this morning I ran into Michael's and found the cutest container, and the best part was that this week all the scrapbooking storage is 50% off!!

It's by Recollection and it holds 60 cartridges!! I only bought one with the thought that I'd try it and if it didn't work I'd use it for something else. I need to go back tomorrow and get a couple more before the sale ends. The best part is it condensed the handbooks and overlays too. I had 4 boxes full with everything, and after pulling out the carts I now have 2 and 1/2 boxes with just the books and overlays, and they are so much neater!!

Well gotta run for now. We are going over to DD #2's house for dinner and I need to put together the dish I'm bringing. Have a great evening!

It's only Wednesday?!?

Hello everyone! I know it's only Wednesday, but I feel like it should be Friday!! This first week back is kicking my butt!! :) And I especially miss playing in my craft room. I did come home and created this card for 3 different challenges. The first challenge is at Scrappy Moms Stamps for their Terrific Tuesday Challenge using either Campin' Critters or Nifty Fifties. The second challenge is at Tattered Time for the CCCC #26 using Campin' Critters, and the third is also using Campin' Critters at Cricut 360. Well, since I don't have that cartridge I used Camp Out. I felt really rushed when I was making the card, so I'm not sure I like it. Oh well, at least I finished it and am able to submit it! :) Here's the recipe:

The Paper Company cardstock
K and Co. pattern paper
Scrappy Moms sentiment stamp
Stampin' Up ink
Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen
Ribbon from Michael's

Hope you have a great evening and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Challenge #23 at CTO

Hello all and happy Tuesday!!! I made a card to play along with my fellow DT members over at Celebrate the Occasion. It was Team 1's turn to host the challenge and since I'm on Team 2 I'm not designing, but I wanted to play along and support them. The challenge is to make something using the colors blue and white. I didn't have a lot of time to play since I am now back to work, but I thought this turned out kind of cute. And the best part, it was made with all scraps from my stash! Here's my recipe:

DCWV pattern paper
Recollection, The Paper Company, and Stampin' Up cardstock
Martha Stewart Paper and Stampin' Up Paper Punches
My Creative Time sentiment stamp
Stampendous Embossing Powder
Nail Heads from Walmart
Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen

Thanks for stopping by, and remember to head over to CTO and join in the fun!

Sunday Evening

Hello all! How was your weekend? Ready to start a new week? I know if you're like me, Sunday nights can be a bummer. I go back to work tomorrow after being off for 4 weeks recovering from surgery. Sure made me realize how valuable your health really is. Any way, today was busy trying to get things in order for the week, but I did have some time to play in my room while DH watched the Giants game. I made this card for the Challenge #19 over at Birthday Sundaes which was to create something using the posted photo for inspiration. Here was my take on it:

The Paper Company cardstock
Anna Griffin pattern paper
Image from Life's a Beach cartridge
Googly eyes from Michael's
Stickles
Decorative scissors from Michael's
Nail heads from
Inkadinkado and dollar stamps from Joann's
Martha Stewart's glitter markers

Zig markers

Well, hope you have a great week. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello again!

Hello again all, how's your Saturday going? Just like the rest of the country, it is HOT here!! We have had such a mild summer so far and now we're paying for it!! But that's the best excuse to stay in and play indoors, right? ;) So here's a card I made for the I Scream for Ice Cream challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut. What an appropriate challenge for the end of July. Here's the recipe:

Recollection cardstock
DCWV pattern paper
Image from Simply Charmed cartridge
Sentiment stamp from Scrappy Mom's stamps
Peachy Keen face stamps
American Crafts ribbon
White Gelly Roll Pen
Colorbox chalk ink
Pebbles Inc chalk
Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch

Well, DH just got home and I need to start dinner. Keep cool and thanks for stopping by!

Check out my new look and grab my button!!!

Good morning all!! How do you like my new look???? I absolutely love it!!! Please feel free to grab my new button too!!!! DD#2 urged me "freshen up" my look, so here we are!! I just want to thank Tenille over at The Cutest Blog on the Block for doing such a great job!!!! Thanks Tenille!!! :) Well, off to take care of some chores and then hopefully play in my room!! Have a great Saturday!

Wow! What a week!!!

Hello everyone!! This week has been c-r-a-z-y!!!! It's amazIing how chaotic things can be when the kids come home for a visit, need a place to stay! But we all survived and DD #2 and her boyfriend were able to stay in their new house tonight. They still have a lot of work to do and I have my scraproom to myself again. Yay!!! It was hard to get in there with suitcases, air mattress, and stuff all over. :) But I was able to get in there this morning and work on a couple of things. I had to laugh when she said "you get awful cranky when you don't get to play in your room!!".  What can I say? We just get set in our ways! lol So here's the card I made for two different challenges. The first challenge is at Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #24 for a shaped card, and the second is at My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #17 Christmas in July. Here's the recipe for my card:

Card created with the Elegant Edges cartridge
Recollection cardstock
Me & My Big Ideas pattern paper
Twine from the Twinery
Scrappy Moms Sentiment stamp
Stickles

Well, I hope you like my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!!

I made the DT!!!!!

Hi everyone!!! I am soooo excited to finally be able to tell you that I made the Design Team at Celebrate the Occasion!! I found out last week and couldn't say a word, was that ever hard to do!!! lol I am super excited to work along side so many great crafters and on such a fun blog to boot! I have been entering their challenges for quite awhile and have always enjoyed their kind comments on my projects. So here's the card I entered for the call.

I used The Paper Company cardstock and DCWV patterned paper from their Celebrations Stack. I cut the cupcake from the Doodle Charms Cricut cartridge and used a tiny Hero Arts stamp on both the icing and the wrapper. I then added Stickles throughout the cupcake and of course, used my White Gelly Roll pen for the doodling. The ribbon is from Michael's and the sentiment stamp is from the Scrappy Mom's Everyday Greetings Stamp Set on a tag cut with a Nestabilities tag with some more Stickles added. I think it's a pretty simple card, but I just love the colors and I hope you do too. Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing in my excitement of making the team! Be sure to stop by Celebrate the Occasion and check out all my fellow team members and see their projects as well. And don't forget to enter their weekly challenges, you won't be sorry!!

Pretty Darn Cute!

Hello again. How's your Monday going? It's quiet at the moment so I thought I'd write another quick post for the challenge over at Cricut 360. The challenge is to create a card, layout, or altered item for a parent or in the memory of a parent. Last week I was thinking a lot about my dad who passed away almost 3 years ago. He'd been on my mind a lot so I thought I'd pull out a photo to create a layout of him. This picture was taken back in 1969 when I was almost 9 years old and my sister was 4. We went out for a Sunday luncheon on a ship called the SS Princess Louise that was docked and turned into a restaurant in San Pedro, CA. I used Bazzill and Recollection cardstock and K and Co. pattern paper. The cream colored mat was cut from Accent Essentials and the ship was cut from the Pack Your Bags Cricut cartridge. The ribbon is American Crafts and the title sticker is from 3 Birds. The journaling tag is an Anna Griffin stamp and I used my iRock for the bling on the tag. I also used my white Gelly Roll pen for my journaling and doodling and Stickles on the ship. Well, hope you like my layout and I appreciate the chance to share a special memory! Be sure to stop by tomorrow morning, I have a surprise!! ;) Thanks for stopping by!!!

Good Monday morning!

Good morning everyone!! Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend, mine was pretty chaotic. DD #2 and her boyfriend were moving back to Redding, but the house they are renting wasn't ready. Sooooo, guess where they're staying?? ;) you got it!! DH was helping our other SIL paint the house while the others were moving up boxes etc. and since I'm still recouping from surgery there wasn't much I could do but cook meals. I now could work in any diner as a line cook!!! lol But I did get a chance to play in my room a little bit, for sanity's sake if nothing else!! ;) Here's a card I made for the Anything Goes challenge at Birthday Sundaes. I used a piece of pattern paper from the new DCWV Collage Musings Stack that I won. When that stack hits the market, you really need to pick it up, all I can say is CUTE!!! All of the cardstock is Bazzill except for the large butterfly which was stamped on Recollection cardstock using an Anna Griffin stamp. I colored the butterfly with Martha Stewart glitter markers and added some Stickles to it. Then I popped it up with a homemade dimensional strip. I used 2 sentiment stamps from different My Pink Stamper sets. I masked the word "hi" on the first sentiment and add the ". . ." so that I could include the birthday sentiment. I used my black Gelly Roll pen for the doodling. Well I hear rustling so I better go start breakfast for everyone. Have a fantastic Monday!!!

Let the weekend begin!!!

Happy Friday all!!! Phew! Made it through another week!! I have two cards today for several challenges. The first card is for the Terrific Tuesday Challenge over at Scrappy Moms Stamps using the Preserves Cartridge. I don't have that cart so I used Freshly Picked. I just love the pattern paper on this which was actually a sample piece of Sassafras paper that I got in one of my scrapbook magazines quite awhile ago. And, being the typical crafter, had to save it cuz I just knew I'd have something to use it on some day!! lol The cardstock is from my scrap stash and I used one of Scrappy Moms sentiment stamps. You really need to check out their stamps, they are the best!! AND...they have 2 new sets just released today!!!  I also used a Peachy Keen face stamp on my little mushroom guy, Stickles, and my white gelly role pen.

The second card is for the challenges at Die Cuttin Divas for their summer fun challenge, Fantabulous Cricut for their let's go camping challenge, and More Than Favors for their Wacky Wednesday #44 fun in the sun challenge. I think this card fit all three challenges quite well. I know some people think of camping as a tent in the woods kind of thing, but I'm more the "castle camping" type of girl in our 5th wheel, and since the Summer Vacation cartridge that I used doesn't have a 5th wheel, a motor home works just fine!! lol I used some K and Company pattern paper, scraps for the card base, mat, and sentiment flag. I used a sentiment stamp from Pink by Design, Stickles, and a brown Zig marker for the stitching.

Hope you like my cards and that you have a great Friday!! Take care and thanks for stopping by!!!

Grrrrrr!!!

I've been dinking around with the layout on my blog, and I'm having issues...that's what happens when you know just enough to be dangerous!!! lol Please be patient with me while I work on this. Thanks!!

Celebrate the Occasion #22

Good morning all! How's your week going so far? It's actually a little overcast and cool here today, so unusual for July in Redding, but we're going to pay for it next week. I hear it's going to be back in the 100's. Oh well, I'll take what I can get when I can get it!! lol Well, I played in my room yesterday and made this card for the challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion. The challenge was to create something for Christmas, and if it's a card it would have to be a shaped card. Sooooo, I pulled out my Gypsy and created this present from the Christmas Cheer cartridge. I really struggled with it when it was time to put it together, then when I showed DD #2, her comment was "whhhaaattt is that???" lol When I told her she giggled and said it looked like something from Whoville!! lol Figures, $30,000 worth of a college education and all she sees is Dr. Seuss!!! lol (don't tell her, but I thought the same thing after she said it!!! ;) ) For the record, I wouldn't use this image to make a card again, not sturdy enough, unless I tried to weld it on the box maybe. I worked with it so long I that I was going to make sure it worked, I wasn't going to give up!! lol Next time I'll be sure and choose something with a wider section for welding. Learning curve!!!!

So here's my recipe:

The Paper Company cardstock
Pattern paper from a XMAS stack from Walmart
Present image from Christmas Cheer
Tag image from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More
Scrappy Mom's Stamps sentiment stamp
Stampin' Up and Colorbox chalk inks
Stickles
Martha Stewart Baker's Twine
Sakura White Gelly Roll pen for doodling

Well, hope you like my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hello all! Three more Blog Awards!! woo hoo!!!  I feel so honored that my blog was one of the ones chosen by Rebecca at The Crafting Misfit and by Lisa at A Mermaid's Crafts for these awards!

5) Fall is my favorite time of year.
6) I go to Michael's at least once a week.

Sunday Afternoon

Hello all! How's your Sunday going? I've been busy in my scrap room making a couple of cards and even worked on a layout. I get so caught up in making cards for various challenges that I tend to forget what actually got me started in paper crafting! I'm so far behind in my scrapping that I tend to just pick out a picture and go for it, no scrapping in order here!! lol So here are two of the cards I made. The first one is for a  the Sunny Days challenge at My Craft Spot. I've been wanting to use this stamp set for awhile and thought it was perfect! I used Recollection Cardstock and a scrap piece of pattern paper from DCWV. The clouds are from a background stamp from Pink by Design. the rest of the stamps, including the sentiment are from Penny Black. I used my Stampin' Up color pencils to color in all the stamps, and of course used my white Gelly Roll pen for the faux stitching.

The second card is for the color theme of orange, green, and white challenge at Birthday Sundaes. I used Recollection cardstock again and the pattern paper is from DCWV. I then dry embossed the white mat with my Cuttlebug and used Colorbox Cat's eye chalk inks to color it. I used my Nestabilities for the sentiment tag, and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up, as is the ink I used for it. The gems are from Michael's and so is the ribbon, and of course, my white Gelly Roll pen for the stitching.

Well hope you like the cards and that you had a good weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Another Fun Saturday

Hello everyone. Hope your weekend is going well. We had a hot and muggy day, but those are the best type of days to stay in and play, right?!? ;) I actually finished up organizing my Cricut cartridges and then made a couple of cards. I had been looking at a lot of different ideas for this little organization project and finally settled on using photo boxes from Michael's. I don't know the lady's name, but here's a link to her youtube video showing what it looks like. I'm liking it so far, that is until I see something else that catches my eye!! lol So, here's the card I made which I am submitting to 2 challenges. The first challenge is at More Than Favors CCCC #23 using the Wild Card cartridge and the second challenge is at Cricut 360.  Their challenge was to make a circle thank you card. Here's the recipe:

The Paper Company cardstock
The Girls' Paperie pattern paper
Nestabilities tag
Card base from Wild Card Cartridge
Stampin' Up sentiment stamp and ink
Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Lace from Michael's
Prima Flowers
Gems from Michael's

I really liked how this turned out, especially the lace. It was originally white, but the distress ink fixed that quite nicely! :) Take care and thanks for stopping by!!

Christmas in July at CTO

Hello all!! How is your week going? Summer has arrived in Redding with a bang! Been in the 100's all week. Today I got to play in my room a little bit and I made this card for the Christmas in July challenge at Celebrate the Occasion. Part of the challenge was you couldn't use red. I thought I might have a problem with that since I love the traditional colors, but I think this worked. Here's the recipe:

Recollection cardstock
DCWV pattern paper
Image cut from Smiley Cards
Sentiment stamp from Scrappy Moms Stamps
Stampin' Up Ink
American Crafts Ribbon
Stickles
Glossy Accents
White Gelly Roll Pen

Well, DH should be home any minute and I need to run. Hope you like my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

"Traveling Showcase" with Die Cuttin Divas

Hello again! I had a little bit of time to play in my room today so I made this card for the "Traveling Showcase" challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas. I have never submitted anything for any of their challenges, and when blog walking this morning, I saw this challenge and just had to participate! I used my new Pack Your Bags cartridge that I just received in the mail Friday. What a fun cartridge!! Here's the recipe for my card:

Recollection Cardstock
DCWV Pattern Paper
Image from Pack Your Bags Cricut Cartridge
Cuttlebug Swirls folder
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Pebbles Inc. Chalks
Stickles
Stazon Ink
Scrappy Cat sentiment stamp
White Gelly Roll and Blue Zig pens for doodling

Well, time to go get dinner started for the birthday girl. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!

Happy Birthday to my Baby Girl!!!

Good morning all! Today is my baby girl's 24th birthday!! How time flies, huh?? I had already posted an owl card that I had made for her, and when my mom saw it she grabbed it to give to my daughter. lol So, here's the other card I made for her. I thought it would be perfect to submit for the anything goes challenge over at Birthday Sundaes. Here's the recipe for my card:

Georgia Pacific cardstock for the card base
The Paper Company cardstock for mat and shoes
DCWV Pattern paper and glitter paper
Image from Forever Young cartridge
Pink By Design sentiment and sale/sold stamps
Prima Flowers
Gem bling from Michael's
Ribbon from the Dollar Store
White Gelly Pen for doodling

Since DD really loves shoes, I thought this card was perfect for her! Especially since she loves high heels and bling! Hope you like her card as much as she does, and as always, thanks for stopping by! (oh and yes, DH got the A/C working yesterday!! much better now!!!)  :)

One more for Saturday!

Hi again! I just remembered that I had made a couple of 4th of July cards this week, but never posted them! oops! I love the 4th, but this year is going to be very low-key since I'm still supposed to be taking it easy. I can't even swim, :( Oh well, no biggee!! At least I can have my family wait on me for a change!! So I am going to submit this card for 2 challenges, one at Celebrate the Occasion, which was to make a project celebrating the 4th with red, white, and blue, and the other at More than Favors Wacky Wednesday #43 using red, white, and blue. Here's the recipe for the card:

Recollection Cardstock
Image from the Independence Day Cartridge
Scrappy Moms sentiment and star stamp
Clear embossing powder from Joann's
Zing blue glitter embossing powder
Ribbon from Michael's
Brad from my stash
Stampin' Up paper punch
Martha Stewart glitter marker
White Gelly Roll pen for doodling

Well, I think I'm finally done for the day! I hope you like my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Another Scraps-only card!

Hello again!! I created another card, this time for 2 challenges and I made with all scraps again!! woo hoo!! At this rate maybe I can clean some of that mess out!! lol Any ways, the card is a BBQ invitation, which I think is perfect for this time of year. While so many folks have been doing the red, white, and blue colors I have tried to be different, but so far my different has been in the brown tones for the last 3 cards! ;)  The first challenge is to make a cook-out or picnic themed card over at Cricut Cardz, and the other challenge is to make an invitation of any kind over at Cricut 360, the new kids on the block. This is actually their first challenge and you could use any cartridge for both challenges. Here's the recipe for my card:

Recollection or The Paper Company Cardstock
DCWV Pattern Paper
Image from the Father's Day Cartridge
Ribbon from Michael's
Stampin' Up ink
Recollection sentiment stamp
White Gelly Roll pen for doodling

Well, DH just got home to fix the A/C, so hopefully in a little while it'll be nice and cool in here. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!

Happy Saturday!!

Hello everyone! Hope you're enjoying your 3-day holiday weekend!! Ours started off by the A/C going out last night. :( And of course it's going to be in the 100's from here on out!! Gotta love Redding in the summer!! Oh well, we know what's wrong, just waiting to get the part and for DH to come home and fix it. Thank goodness it wasn't a very expensive fix! So, thought I'd go play for a little while. I made this card for the stars and stripes birthday challenge over at Birthday Sundaes, and I made it using all scraps from my stash. Yay!! Here's the recipe:

Recollection or The Paper Company Cardstock
DCWV Pattern Paper
Martha Stewart Bakers Twine
Making Memories distressing tool
Tim Holtz Distressed Inks
Stampin' Up Ink, Sentiment Stamp, & paper punch
Brads from stash
White Gelly Roll pen for doodling

I hope you like the card. I had fun making it and thought it would make a good man-card. Try to keep cool and thanks for stopping by!
