Challenge #28 at CTO - Sketch

Good morning everyone! Time for another challenge at CTO. This week's challenge is to make a birthday card following the sketch shown here. I don't know about you, but I like challenges that have you follow a sketch, especially when I'm having a hard time finding my "mojo". :) So for my card I used The Paper Company cardstock and the pattern paper is from a pad of Colorbok that I got at Walmart. The sketch shows some stitching so I thought I'd try my hand at machine stitching. The ribbon turned out ok, when I tried to do the stitching around the paper, not so much. I tried 3 different times then gave up and used my Zig marker. So much easier!! lol The button is from Stampin Up, floss from my stash, the flower is from Prima, and the sentiment from a My Pink Stamper set. Aside from the stitching fiasco, this was a simple card. Note to self....stick to faux stitching!!! :) Now, it's your turn! Join the fun and follow the sketch to create your card. If you haven't had a chance to check out my fellow DT members, please do so because we have a talented bunch! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sunday afternoon, 1 card, 2 challenges

Hello everyone! Hope your Sunday is going well. Thoughts and prayers still with those on the East Coast. I can't even imagine what that must be like, but I do know that I pray for everyone's safety. So, as I hide in the house avoiding the heat, what better way to spend an afternoon but playing in my room! I made this card for the the Terrific Tuesday Challenge at Scrappy Moms Stamps using Straight from the Nest Cricut cartridge, and Challenge #24 at Birthday Sundaes using an inspiration photo. The best part of this card is that the entire thing was made with scraps!!! woo hoo!! Even the kraft card base was a scrap! The sentiment stamp is from one of Scrappy Moms stamp sets, the twine was from some that I just received from Kimberly at My Craft Spot, the jewels were in my stash, and I used a Stampin Up border punch. And don't forget the Stickles!! Well, time to get dinner started. Hope the rest of your Sunday goes well and that you have a great week. Thanks for stopping by!

Donation for a Cause

Happy Saturday! Hope this finds everyone well. My thoughts and prayers are with those on the East Coast today. I've never been in a hurricane, but we have had some storms come through here with 90 mph winds which is enough for me!!

So, while I was waiting for my daughter to pick me up to go see "The Help", I put together this card for the donation that Robyn from The Pink Stamper mentioned. If you haven't read my earlier post about it or Robyn's post, you can read about it here. I made this card using The Paper Company cardstock, leopard print pattern paper from my stash, jewel from my stash, ribbon from Michael's, and stamps from Pink By Design. I just LOVE leopard lingerie!!! :) So I hope this card puts a smile on someone's face at that luncheon, because it sure made me smile! Thanks for stopping by, and if you get a chance and find it in your heart to send a card, please do. Have a good one!

Card Donations Needed

Good morning everyone! This is just a quick post this morning since it's a work day. As I was blog hopping this morning I came across this post at My Pink Stamper:

"I received the following letter and wondered if any of you have time to send a few homemade cards for her cause. I would really appreciate it and we could really brighten someone up!

"I really need your help along with the your followers. Long story short. I am a nurse at the Medical of WI in Plastic and Reconstruction dept. We specialize in the forefront in reconstruction for breast cancer. Women from all over the country come to us. This year I/we decided to sponsor the breakfast for breast cancer survivors. 1500 women who have had breast cancer or who are actively dealing with it now will attend this breakfast before the run/walk.
Every year prior to this year I have made something for the women and handed it out at the end of the race/walk. To my astonishment people would be grabbing-pushing aside other women and men to get what I was handing out. Ex: white and pink chocolate covered Oreos, wrapped pink and white M&M's mini bags. TO my astonishment again the cancer survivors really didn't receive what I made.

Well this year, the breakfast will be catered by one of the best chefs in Milwaukee. I feel it is an honor to sponsor this. Where you come in - Please if one person could make a card to support uplift make someone smile. It would make their day. The card would be placed at their seat. Please Please help!
I would be happy to give my address if you could ask people to help me with this. Just 1 card - 1500 Pink Stamper followers. The Breakfast is on September 28th.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Mortl RN,CPSN

Kathy Mortl
10261 N Sunnycrest Drive
Mequon, WI 53092"

This request really struck home because one of my co-workers is fighting breast cancer now. So please, if you have a chance to help out please do.

Thanks and have a great day!!

Tuesday Night

Hi everyone! Hope this finds everyone well. Had some time to play tonight since DH had band practice. woo hoo!!! So I made this card for two different challenges. One of the challenges is over at Celebrate the Occasion, and you know I just had to support my fellow DT members. The challenge this week was to make a circle card. The other challenge is the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #28 over at Tattered Time. Their challenge was to use the Birthday Cakes cartridge. So I used my Elegant Edges cartridge and my Gypsy to create the card base with Core'dinations cardstock. I used DCWV pattern paper from the Nana's Kitchen stack and the coffee cup was cut from the Birthday Cakes cartridge with scrap of Bazzil cardstock. I then ran the cup through my Cuttlebug using the Sizzix Wedding embossing folder. Then I inked the embossing with a Colorbox cat's eye chalk ink. I wanted to give it a "china" look so I then used my Versamark ink pad and some Utee and did some heat embossing on it. It doesn't show as well in the picture, but it looks very glassy in person. The sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design. Well, I should head off to bed, it'll be time to get up before I know it. Have a great rest of your evening, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #23 - Color

Hello all! Happy Monday!! How is everyone's week starting out? Back to work and back to school for everyone, always fun! Well, after work I came home and finished up this card for the the color challenge over at Birthday Sundaes using pink, green, and white. I started this yesterday, but with all the interruptions I had with chores and family, I gave up. I used The Paper Company and Bazzil cardstock and DCWV pattern paper. The ribbon is from Michael's, Stampin' Up brad, ink, and sentiment stamp and the flourish stamp is from a TCP Studio stamp set. That's it! Pretty simple card, but I really like how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Glad it's Saturday!

Hello! How is everyone's weekend going? Can I just tell you how glad I was to wake up and know that it was Saturday morning??? :) It's been a really hectic week and I really need my weekend!! lol I made this card for the Back to School challenges at Cricut 360 and at Die Cuttin Divas. It's funny how school starts at so many times. When I was a kid we went to school from the week after Labor Day until the third week of June. Here in Redding most of the schools started last week. So here's my card made using the Everyday Paper doll cartridge. My card base and mat are from the Paper Company and of course,DCWV pattern paper. The doll and jump rope were made using scraps, and the fringe on the jump rope was from my embroidery floss stash that I have had since I was in junior high. (yes, it seems to last a loonnngggg time!! lol) I used the Simple Sallies face stamp from Peachy Keen and some Pebbles, Inc. chalk on her cheeks. I used my White Gelly Roll pen for the doodling on her shorts, face and hair, and my Zig markers for outlining and doodling. The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper's Buggy Punnies stamp set And the ribbon was from Michael's. Hard to believe that I didn't use any Stickles!! :) Well, that's it for tonight. Hope you all have a great evening and enjoy your Sunday! Thanks for stopping by!

Challenge #26 at CTO - Easel Birthday Card

Good morning! Welcome to another challenge at CTO. This week DT 2 was asked to make an easel birthday card. I like making easel cards once I get started, but for some reason I don't make many. I used The Paper Company cardstock for the card base and mats and found this cute DCWV pattern piece in my scraps. The chipboard charms are from a 3 Birds kit, but I couldn't leave them plain, added Stickles to two and Glossy Accents to the third. I used Baker's Twine from the Twinery and glitter brads from my stash to hang the charms.

The gems are from Michael's and the sentiment/cake slice stamps are from Inkadinkado. I also used my White Gelly Roll pen and a blue Zig marker for doodling and coloring.

Well, I hope you like my card. Please be sure to stop by the other DT members for inspiration and leave them a comment. We always love to get comments from you! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Challenge # 7 at Cricut 360 - Old West

Hello all. I have a quick post for a card I made for the challenge at Cricut 360 using the Old West cartridge. I used Recollection cardstock for the card base, 2 of the mats, and the coffee pot. The first mat of pattern paper that looks like denim material is from Paper Pizzaz. The denim ribbon is a piece of denim from a bag full that my mom gave me when she altered a skirt. The stamp sentiment is from a set from Pink by Design and I "spotted" the coffee pot with my White Gelly Roll pen. Well like I said, this is a quickie. Hope you all have had a good weekend, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Good morning and Happy Sunday! I am super excited about today because I was asked to be a Guest Designer at Birthday Sundaes. How cool is that?!? And did you see Friday's post? I can't believe it! Still pinching myself! lol Any way, back to today's challenge. I was asked to create a birthday card using brads and to use at least three brads. I can remember a time where I put brads on everything but not so much any more.So here's my card. I used Stampin' Up and The Paper Company cardstock for the base and mat and DCWV pattern paper. The ribbon is from Michael's and the brads are from my stash, but I don't know the manufacturer. The leaves on the top mat are stamped with the new Martha Stewart's Stamp Around the Page stamp sets. Yes, I am an HSN shop-a-holic! lol I really like them too. The birthday sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up as is the ink. Well, I hope you like my card. Please be sure to head over and see all the cute projects the design team has created. They are a talented group! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Saturday Evening

Hi everyone! How's your Saturday? After my very busy day yesterday doing family stuff I was able to play in my room and have some much needed "me" time! I made this card for two challenges. The first challenge is for the Terrific Tuesday Challenge over at Scrappy Mom's using the Pack Your Bags Cricut Cartridge. The second challenge is the Monday Challenge #20 at My Craft Spot which is It's Hot Out There. So what better way to cool off then with a frosty drink! I used Recollection cardstock for the card, color mats, and glass, and Bazzill Swiss Dot cardstock for the liquid in my drink. The pattern paper is from Colorbok. I cut the drink from Pack Your Bags, and the strawberry from Paisley. I used my White Gelly Roll pen for doodling and the sentiment and flower stamps are from Scrappy Mom's. Speaking of which, did you see that they have two new sets just released? Sooo cute!! Gotta do some shopping over there! lol Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great evening!

Happy Tuesday!

Hello all! How is your Tuesday? Mine was pretty good since I got a chance to play in my room for a little bit. Also, since it's Tuesday it's time for another challenge over at . This week's challenge is "Back to School". So I created a card to support my fellow DT members! I used my Stretch Your Imagination cartridge for the cute little school bus. I used The Paper Company cardstock and DCWV pattern paper. I found the ribbon at Joann's and the little hubcaps are nail heads I found at Walmart, but they don't carry them any more. :( The sentiment stamp on the side of the bus was in my stash and I think it's an Inkadinkado set. I used my White Gelly Roll pen and a black Zig marker for stitching. Well, I hope you like my card and please stop by my fellow DT member's blogs and leave them some love. We all love to get comments! Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Sketch Week Challenge #26 - Die Cuttin Divas

Hello everyone! How's your Monday? Not too bad in this part of the world. I had a little bit of time to kill when I got home from work (shirking chores again!! lol) so I made this card for the sketch challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas. I really do like working from a sketch sometimes, kind of takes the brain struggle out of it when your in a slump. So here's my card. I used Stampin' Up cardstock, ink, and sentiment stamp, Recollection cardstock for the sentiment mat and the scalloped edge, DCWV pattern paper, Nestabilities die, and of course, Stickles!! I love Stickles!! The butterfly is from Prima and the little butterfly stamp is from Martha Stewart. Nice simple card for a little bit of fun on a Monday afternoon. Win-win!! lol Hope the rest of your day goes well and thanks for stopping by!!

Sunday morning

Good morning and happy Sunday! Hope yours is going well. I just wanted to post a quick card for Challenge #21 over at Birthday Sundaes. The challenge this week is just a birthday card. I made this card using all Stampin' Up supplies and a piece of DCWV pattern paper. The mat for the sentiment is cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge. That cartridge is quickly becoming a favorite! The brads were from my stash and I think I got them from Oriental Trading Company when I first started scrapping. I really like the colors and I was amazed when I found that the brads matched perfectly!

Well, told you this was quick! Hope you like my card and that your day is amazing. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Cricut 360 Challenge #6 - Refreshing

Hello all! How was your week and the first half of your weekend? Mine was very busy, one of those, life just gets in your way and not able to craft week. I was able to get in there for a little while today and made this card for the for the challenge at Cricut 360 blog. The challenge was to create something refreshing. Well, I don't know about you, but there's nothing more refreshing than ice cream!! This ice cream cone reminds me of those chocolate dipped cones from Dairy Queen. I cut it from the Nifty Fifties cartridge. The cardstock is from The Paper Company and the pattern paper is from DCWV's Sweet Stack. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the cone using the Harlequin folder. The mat was cut using the Elegant Edges cartridge. I used my Nestabilities tag set to cut the ribbon and distressed it and the cone with a Colorbox Cat's Eye chalk ink. The sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design. I added doodling with my White Gelly Roll pen and then added Glossy Accents to it to give it that "just dipped" effect. Well, DH just got home, so I gotta run. Have a great rest of your evening, and as always, thanks for stopping by.

Challenge #24 at CTO - My First Post as a DT Member!!

Good morning and welcome to Celebrate the Occasion's Challenge #24! I am so excited to be posting my first project as a DT Member at Celebrate the Occasion! I feel so honored to be a part of this team. I have been participating in their challenges for a few months and have had a lot of fun. There's always a nice variety to their challenges which is nice. Now for this week's challenge, create something for a kid's birthday. It's been a long time since my girls were kids, so I had a blast making this card. I used my favorite cartridge, Create a Critter and of course DCWV Nana's Kids paper stack. And you just can't pass up using googly eyes on these cute cuts!! The cardstock is from The Paper Company, a Prima flower near her ear, ribbon and jewel from my Michael's, nail head from Walmart, Stickles, Sakura White Gelly Roll and Zig markers for doodling.  The sentiment stamp is from a My Pink Stamper set, so perfect for this cut and I used my Stampin' Up punches to create the mats for the sentiment. Well, I hope you get inspired by my card and be sure to stop by all my fellow team members and see what they have created. They are a talented bunch!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Oh, and don't forget to have FUN with the challenge!!!!  :)
