Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #32

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another challenge at CTO. This week's challenge is to create something for any occasion and you must include ribbon. The card I made is an anniversary card for my niece's 1 year anniversary. I used Recollection cardstock and a piece of DCWV All Dressed Up matstack. The ribbon was from the packaging of a set of Scrappy Moms stamps that I purchased. They always include a cute little ribbon on their stamps. The sentiment stamp is from one of their stamp sets too. I tried to make the sentiment sparkly with some Smooch spray, looks better in person! lol Well, hope you can join in the fun with us at CTO and show us your crafty creation with ribbon. Have a great day!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #28 - Who's got the button?

Hello everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at Birthdae Sundaes. This week's challenge to to create a birthday card using buttons. I made this card using Recollection cardstock and another piece of pattern paper from the Colorbok pad I got at Walmart. I used a stamp from a set by 3 Birds that was made to include buttons in the image, a really fun set which even included the buttons. I colored the image with my Zig markers and then went over it with my Sakura glitter pen, then added some Glossy Accents to the icing. The sentiment stamp is from a Pink By Design set. Short and sweet and easy peasy when your short on time! I hope you can come play with us and show us what you created with buttons!! Have a great evening!

CTO Challenge #31

Hello all! Hope your Saturday is going well. Finally had a chance to make a quick card to support my fellow team mates over at CTO. This week's challenge is to create a something for a birthday that must include balloons. I made this quick little card using Stampin' Up cardstock and ink, pattern paper is from a Colorbok stack I got at Walmart. The balloon string stamp is from 3 Birds, as are the buttons, and the sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design. The ribbon is from my scraps so I don't who the manufacturer is and I used floss and baker's twine in the buttons. Note to self, stamp sentiment BEFORE you glue on the buttons...hence the ghosting on my sentiment! :) Well, I think it's time to head to bed. Have a great evening, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Scrappy Moms card for Friday

Good morning! This post is a little late this morning, but what can I say? I slept in!! woo hoo! That doesn't happen very often. So can I just say how much fun I've had playing with the Scrappy Moms crew? I love their stamps and have thoroughly enjoyed my Guest Designer time. Thank You Melanie and Tammy!! It's been a blast!!! Now for my card, I was asked to make a Giants themed birthday card for a friend of DD's, and of course, I only had 20 minutes to make it! The pressure was on!!! But of course I had the perfect stamp set in mind ;) and used a simple cut from the Father's Day cartridge. All elements of the card are from Micheal's supplies, Recollection cardstock and pattern paper and ribbon. The inside sentiments were from some dollar stamps I found at Joann's. Super easy and she was very happy with it! I hope her friend liked it too. Well, have a great Friday and please stop by Scrappy Moms and check out their stamps and supplies. You won't be sorry!! Thanks for stopping by!

Scrappy Moms card for Thursday

Good morning everyone!! Happy Thursday! (my Friday yay!!) Here is another card showcasing the Scrappy Moms Bewitched stamp set. And it's another easy one using Recollection cardstock and printed paper from their Fall and Halloween paper stack. The fact that DCWV and Michael's have collaborated to create these is great for those of us that "collect" DCWV stacks!! lol So back to my card....I distressed the orange mat with Black Soot Distress Ink. The cat and moon were cut from the Martha Stewart's Holiday Cake cartridge and I used some gray chalk ink on the cat to give it a spooky look then added some Stickles for the eye and to the moon. The eye on the crow was made with my Sakura Glitter pen, and don't forget the sentiment stamp from Scrappy Moms!! See? how quick and easy was that?? Well I hope you like the card and that you have a fantastic Thursday!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Wednesday and another Scrappy Moms card

Good morning!! I hope your week is going well, we're half way to the weekend!! Here's another quick post showcasing another card using Scrappy Moms stamps. Another easy card, who doesn't love easy, right?!? I made this card using all Recollection papers again. I found these papers with a really cute coordinating die cut piece at Michael's and thought they were perfect for the Game Day set of stamps. I cute the baseball and bat from the Father's Day cartridge, used one of the die cuts and matted it twice, used my Stampin' Up paper punch, a Scrappy Moms stamp and voila! Done! No stitching on this one, gotta have some variety, right?!? LOL besides, DH said that stitching would look too "girly", gotta love their opinion!! :) Well, time to run and get ready for work, where oh where is that lotto ticket?? lol Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!!

Fall Scrappy Moms Card

Good morning all and Happy Tuesday! Just a quick post to share another card with a Scrappy Moms stamp. I just LOVE all of their stamps!! And the fact that I get to play with all the lovely and talented ladies over there is just icing on the cake!!! So for my little card here I cut my pumpkin with my Cuttlebug die and used a PKS face stamp on him, and of course some doodling with my white Gelly Roll pen. The cardstock is a combo of Recollection and Bazzill and the pattern paper is from the new fall matstack by DCWV. I used a Zig marker for the stitching, iRock pearl stones, ribbon from Michael's, and a Martha Stewart border punch, and of course, let's not forget our Scrappy Mom's sentiment stamp!!! Easy peasy!! If you have never tried any of their stamps, you really need to get a set, or even two!! Well that's it for now, gotta run get ready for work. Have a great Tuesday and I'll see you soon! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Nuthin' But Scraps!

Hello! How is your Sunday? I know, it's almost over and time to get back to the grind.
So since I was asked to make a couple of cards today (I know, they really had to twist my arm to make me play in my room!) I thought I should make a card for the Belated Birthday card challenge over at Birthday Sundaes. And I whipped this one up using nuthin but scraps! woo hoo!! Even the die cut was a left over cut. And, believe me, I have plenty of those!! I cut the frog from the Live Simply Cricut Lite cartridge, and the party hat and present from the American Alphabet on my E2. I haven't really used the carts on that machine too much and I don't know why...there are some really cute cuts on it. I used a PKS face stamp and put some Glossy Accents on the glasses and of course used my Gelly Roll pen for doodling and lot of Stickles.
The glitter on the hat is actually from a Sakura Glitter pen, which is fast becoming a favorite!! The sentiment is from a Scrappy Moms stamp set. Well, time to cook dinner. Hope you all had a great weekend, don't forget to stop by tomorrow for another sneak peek of Scrappy Moms stamps and to find out who won the blog candy. Thanks for stopping by!!

If you didn't have a chance to hop, go here. Well, now it's time for another card with a sneak peek of their new stamp sets. I thought you would like to see another Halloween card. This card was super simple using DCWV pattern paper and Recollection cardstock. The only things added to this card were the 2 witches I cut from the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake cartridge and the doodling with my Gelly Roll Pens. Easy Peasy!!!! Hope you like the card, and be sure to stop by Scrappy Moms and check out the other DT members and don't forget to check out the stamps...you may just have to buy a set or two! ;)

Happy Saturday!

If you're here for the Scrappy Moms Blog Hop, please go here.
How is your Saturday going? I've been playing in my room today, or at least trying to. I need to make a "do not disturb" sign for my door!! lol Any way, I've been working on this criss cross card for the challenge at Birthday Sundaes, which, if you missed my announcement post, I am now a Design Team member!! woo hoo!! I start in October, but I still wanted to play along. And this card was a challenge too. I've never made a criss cross card so I went to Splitcoaststampers and watched their tutorial. It took awhile, but I did it. I used a paper pack from Stampin Up called Ice Cream Parlor, a scrap piece of Bazzill, and 1 scrap piece of Recollection. The large flower is a Recollection flower and I used some of the Stampin Up ink on it, Stampin' Up buttons, and some baker's twine.
Well, back to my room. I was asked to make a couple of cards for some friends, so I better get busy. Have a great rest of your day, and thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to the Scrappy Moms Halloween Hop!

Happy Saturday and welcome to the the Scrappy Moms Halloween Blog Hop!! I am so honored to be their Guest Designer for September. I just love Melanie and Tammy, they are just the sweetest and have the BEST stamps!!! If you just come from Corri's blog, Bug Lover Cards you are in the right spot, if not, you can start at Mel's blog, Scrappy Mel. So here's my card for the hop. I used Recollection cardstock and DCWV pattern paper. The spiders are cut from Lyrical Letters and at first I was a little peeved that they wouldn't lay flat, but then I thought they looked like they're crawling off the page which looks pretty cool. The mats on both the inside and outside were punched with Martha Stewart paper punches as was the sentiment mat. Speaking of sentiment....that's one of the new stamps from the newly released Bewitched set. (Just love the name of that set!) The inside sentiment is from last year's Halloween release.
Now for some blog candy!! What's Halloween without candy? I have a set of the Game Day stamps for one trick or treater! To win the set you must be a follower, leave a comment on this post with your information so I can contact you, and then come back on Monday and I will announce the winner.

Scrappy Moms Sneak Peek and Halloween Blog Hop!

Good morning everyone!! It's my weekend yippee!!!! I so need my weekend, this working thing really gets in the way of my play time! lol In fact today DH knew I was cranky and "sent me to my room", he knew I needed some me time. I think I'll keep him! lol So here's a card I made with a sneak peek of one of their new stamp sets. This card was made using all all Recollection cardstock and pattern paper, even the tickets are from a sheet of Recollection die cuts. And it had to be maroon for DH's favorite team, the 49er's! I used a Stampin' Up paper punch for the sentiment stamp, Father's Day cartridge, and a Cuttlebug folder to give the football some dimension.

I also want to invite you to the Scrappy Moms Halloween Blog Hop this Saturday, the 17th. I am so super excited to be participating in it!!! I really hope you can come play with us, it's going to be a blast and there's going to be some yummy blog candy too!! Can't be Halloween without candy, right??? Not to mention some ghosts, goblins, and witches!!! eeeheeeeheeeheeehaaaaahaaaaaa! Now how's that for a witch's cackle?? :) See you Saturday!!!

200 Followers Blog Candy!

I'm getting close to 200 followers so it's time for some blog candy! This time I'm going to give away a $25.00 gift card from my favorite store, Michael's! Ok, so it's the only craft store in Redding besides a Joann's, a small LSS and Walmart, but hey, they get A LOT of my money!!! lol So, as soon as I reach 200 I will draw a winner using Random.org. Thank you to all my current followers, without you I wouldn't be holding this drawing, and to the new followers, welcome! Thank you so much everyone!

Challenge #30 at CTO

Good morning everyone! It's time for another challenge at CTO! Today's challenge is to make a tall card, anything birthday, but it must have a present. Now if you're not familiar with a tall card, the card fits in a regular business size envelope. I usually cut the paper at 9" x 7 1/2", scored at 3 3/4". I don't make them very often and I really don't know why, they can be a really cute card and I always have that size envelope on hand. So for my card I used all Recollection paper except for the present, which was from Bazzill Swiss Dot paper. Even the pattern paper was from a new Recollection pad I got at Michael's. The ribbon and gems are from Michael's too and the sentiment stamp is from the set I won at My Craft Spot a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't pass up using Stickles on the ribbon part of the present.

I really hope you decide to join the fun this week, and be sure to stop by the other Design Team members to see what they created. They are a super talented bunch. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

9-11-11 - Ten Years Later

Good morning. It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since that fateful day. The day that forever changed our world. As so many do, I remember exactly what I was doing when this tragedy hit us. Just going about the normal routine of my morning like so many others until I heard the news and watched on TV what was happening before our eyes. How could this happen? But it did. I just couldn't pass this day up without commemorating it. My heart and prayers go out to each and every person that has been affected by this, and I know that there are many. Please take a moment of your day and think of the families that were and still are being affected by this. Please also think of our troops who are still fighting for us so that it never happens again. Let us always remember not only those lost, but also how strong our patriotism was immediately afterward, we need to feel that each and every day. God Bless America!

Welcome to the Teddy Bear Blog Hop!

Happy National Teddy Bear Day and welcome to the Teddy Bear Hop that Jen at Jen's Craft Corner has put together to celebrate. If you're here from Elaine's blog Expressions By Elaine, you're hopping in the right direction. If you're just visiting (thank you) and would like to start at the beginning, start here. So, for my project I created this card. When I think of teddy bears I always think of my middle daughter who carried one forever. I tried to make this bear look fuzzy like a new teddy bear by stippling the brown cardstock with white ink. It shows much better in person. And of course all new teddy bears come with a ribbon around the neck, right? Maybe not googly eyes, but I couldn't resist, I just LOVE googly eyes!! lol
And I had to share the inside of the card. I found this stamp at a garage sale but have never used it. It was one of those items that you just couldn't pass up. I thought it was a perfect choice for this hop.
Ok, now for some candy!! Just a little goody bag, some Studio G stamps and bling and a Tinkering Ink peek-a-boo chipboard mini album. To win this just leave a comment on this post with a way to get a hold of you. You don't have to be a follower, but I'd love it if you were! I'll pick a winner on Monday using Random.org.
So now on you your next stop which is Peggy Sue at I Crea8cards. In case you have forgotten the list of stops along your way, here's a list.

Thursday Night and Football

Hello everyone! How has your week been? I don't know about you, but the short weeks at work always seem to be the busiest and for some reason the busier I am at work, the less time I have to play in my room...what's up with that?!? But the best part about today is the beginning of the football season!! woo hoo!! Now don't get me wrong, I don't know much about football at all, just that it signals the beginning of fall for me, so I'm REALLY excited! Now if only the weather would cooperate! It's only 101 outside right now, but that's how it is in September around here.

So, I finished the card I made to support Team 1 from CTO and thought I better get it posted. If you haven't had to chance to check out this week's challenge, it's to make something for Grandparents Day. I used Bazzil cardstock for the card base and the pattern papers are from Hot Off the Press' Heritage pack. They really do have some beautiful papers. The black mat and sentiment mat are Recollection and I inked the cream paper with some gray chalk ink. The sentiment stamp is from a Scrappy Moms stamp set and the ribbon was actually tied to the stamps when I opened the package. I thought it went perfectly. I found these cute swirl glitter brads the last time I was at Michael's and thought they made the perfect accent. I don't know about your Michael's, but the one here in Redding has been adding all kinds of new brads and embellishments. Just so fun to see all the new stuff every week! (like I need an excuse to cruise by there!! lol)

Oh, and before I forget....tomorrow is the Teddy Bear Hop and I'd love it if you hopped by! Have a great evening!!

2 Cards and 2 Challenges

Hello again everyone! Just got home from DD #2's BBQ, and boy was it yummy!! She did good! Guess she was payin attention to her mama when it came to cooking!! lol So, I thought I'd hurry and post these two cards before I head to bed. The first one is just a little one which I think can be so fun to make. It's for Challenge #30, Fall Colors at Die Cuttin Divas. I used Recollection cardstock the entire card except for the pattern paper which is from DCWV, one of the newer fall mat stacks. I cut and embossed the pumpkin with the combo set from Cuttlebug. I just love that pumpkin!!! the sentiment stamp is from a My Pink Stamper set stamped with Stampin' Up ink. That's it! Nothing to it! Love these simple little cards don't you?

The second card is for Challenge #25 at Birthday Sundaes which is to make a Birthday Card. I made this card for my BIL who's birthday is coming up. I used Recollection cardstock and a piece of pattern paper from another DCWV mat stack. The stamp is from TCP Studios that I got at Michael's. I colored it with my Stampin' Up pencils. I don't have Copics, but maybe some day. The ribbon is from my stash as are the nail heads. I used my Nestabilities to cut the mats for the stamp. Well, that's it, hope you liked my cards and that you have a great evening!

CCC #29 - Sweethearts

Hello everyone, happy Sunday! Hope it's going well for you. I've had some quiet time today and was able to get some serious playing done. Here's a card I made for our 26th wedding anniversary which is on Wednesday. Wow! Can't believe how time flies!! So, what better cartridge to use than Sweethearts and I get to submit it for a challenge...a 2-fer!!!! :) So I used Stampin' Up cardstock (I know, a shocker! no Recollection or The Paper Company!) for the card base, BUT, I used Recollection for the mat!! lol And a sheet of DCWV pattern paper from the All Dressed Up mat stack. The shiny paper for the lock and key was from my scrap stash, so I don't know where it's from. The sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design and I used Stampin' Up ink. Oh, and can't forget my White Gelly Roll pen. Pretty simple card over all, but I like it. Well, gotta run, DD #2 is having a BBQ so we're headed over there. Hope you like my card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Saturday Night!

Hi again! Hope your Labor Day Weekend is going well and everyone is safe. Thoughts and prayers with those of you affected by Tropical Storm Lee. These past couple of weeks have been rough, so sorry. So today I was able to play in my room most of the day, good thing to do when it's 103 outside! I made this card for 2 Halloween Challenges. I was hoping it would make it feel more fall like, but not so much, still hot out!! lol The first challenge is over at My Creative Time which is for a Cricut-less project using the colors Purple, Orange, Green, and Black and the second challenge is for the Wacky Wednesday Challenge at More Than Favors. I used Recollection cardstock and DCWV pattern paper from one of the new mat stacks. I used my Martha Stewart border punch to make the gate. Now, I can't take credit for this swinging gate idea. I'm sorry I can't remember whose blog I saw it on, but I had to try it.

The sentiment stamp and cat stamp are from a Studio G set that I got at Walmart, and the jewels on the house were included with the stamps. Great deal for only $.97!! I then used a Sakura Glitter Gelly roll pen on the fence to color the webs and give the crows spooky eyes. The cat has Stickles on his eyes. Pretty simple card, but it was fun to make. Hopefully it will start feeling like fall soon. Well, thanks for stopping by, hope your evening goes well.

My First Blog Hop!!!

Jen's Craft Corner Teddy Bear Blog Hop

Hi all!! Hope your weekend is off to a good start. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm going to be in my first blog hop!! woo hoo!! Jen over at Jen's Craft Corner has asked me to be in her Teddy Bear Blog Hop on Friday, September 9th. I'm pretty excited since I've never been in one. How nice is that?!? I didn't know that the 9th is National Teddy Bear Day. Here's a little background on the teddy bear:

(Taken from: http://www.festivology.com/topics/teddy.html)

Teddy bears are, of course, named after US President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt. The name came about after a 1902 hunting expedition. The hunt had found no game, so at the end of the day someone brought out a baby bear and suggested that Roosevelt might like to shoot it instead. Roosevelt understandably felt that this was not exactly sporting and refused. The incident was illustrated in a newspaper cartoon entitled "Drawing the Line" - which also referred to the political situation at the time. An enterprising New York toymaker saw an opportunity and brought out a cute stuffed bear named "Teddy's Bear". The rest, as the say, is history.

So, please come join the fun next Friday and stop by to check out the talented ladies that will participating with me. I'll even have some blog candy! ;) Take care and be safe!

Happy Thursday!

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday evening and the beginning of my weekend! woo hoo!!! So glad to have the next 4 days off! Hopefully I can get some serious crafting done. I came home this afternoon, (after a stop off at Michael's after work! hehe) to make this card for the "Relax" challenge at Cricute 360 and the "Sew Much Fun" challenge at My Craft Spot. Well, by the time I got the card done and came home from a dinner date with DH (who's going to turn down reservations??)the challenge at Cricut 360 was closed. Oh well, that's ok. I used The Recollection cardstock and DCWV pattern paper from the Crafty stack. This paper reminds me of my craft desk because I have a big green cutting mat that looks just like the paper! And of course, the little Expression cut from the Cricut Everyday cartridge matches my E too. Love that cartridge, but some of the items should be cut larger than 3 inches to really see the detail. The buttons, floss, and brads are from my stash and of course I had to add some Stickles! The sentiment stamp is from the Paper Princess set from My Creative Time. VERY cute set too! I used my Stampin' Up paper punch and ink and the doodling is with a Zig marker. Overall I like my card and I hope you do too. Well, thanks for stopping by and have a great night!
