First Stampin' Up Challenge

Hello everyone, how is your weekend going so far? I know the weather has been awful for so many back in the mid west and back east, and my prayers go out to all of you.  It's been a long time since I have played in a challenge. Since I became a demonstrator, I have been concentrating on not only my business, but my family as well. But that's not to say I haven't been blog surfing and visiting everyone. :) So, the other day while I was surfing I came across SU-Only Challenges, a challenge site that requires you to use only Stampin' Up supplies. What a great way to use up all my SU scraps from prepping all my workshops! So this week's challenge there was to create something with a bird theme. I used one of the recently retired stamp sets, Clearly for You. I pulled out one of the extra packs that I had prepared for a class that wasn't used in an earlier workshop. It has Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze, and Whisper White cardstocks, and a piece of Twitterpated DSP. The ribbon is also Lucky Limeade. I used the one of the edgelits and the new Paper Piercing Mat and template for the Edgelit and the Decorative Label punch. Then to add some bling, I added some of the pearls. Fun little card for my first challenge. I'm sorry the picture isn't very good, it was taken with my cell phone. My camera battery is dead and the charger is still in our 5th wheel from Memorial Day. Guess I need to get it soon!! lol Head over and check out some of the cute creations for this challenge, they are really "tweet"! ;)  I hope you have a good evening and thank you for stopping by!

Good Sunday Morning!

Hi everyone! How is your weekend going? I know it's been quiet on this blog, I've been busy getting ready for my workshop I had Friday night and life in general. I wanted to share the two cards that I had my girls make. As you may have heard, the new catalog was just released this month so I wanted the girls to have a chance to play with some new toys. Everyone loves to play with new toys, right??  :)  We used  some of the new In-Colors cardstock and ink, some of the new Comfort Cafe DSP, and of course, some new stamps! The first card was made using some of the Gumball Green, Whisper White, and Summer Starfruit cardstock. The GG cardstock was embossed using the Square Lattice folder. I also used the Labels Collection Framelits for the sentiment which is from the new Memorable Moments stamp set. The ribbon is also new, in  the Gumball Green color and we used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen for the faux stitching. I knew the card needed something and since I have a ton of pearls from various vendors, I thought we would use those, but it hardly put a dent in my stash...guess we'll be using more!! lol

The second card was made using Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit cardstock and a strip of the new DSP. The Very Vanilla mat was trimmed with one of the new Edgelits and stamped with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The owl and labels were stamped with one of the new stamps from A Fitting Occasion, which coordinates with some of Stampin' Up punches. That is definitely one of the things I love about Stampin' Up, so many of the stamps coordinate with punches and dies. The girls definitely had a good time on Friday, and I had planned on taking pictures of it, but totally spaced...oops! ;) Well I hope you have a fantastic Sunday, and as always, thank you for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day!!!

Hello everybody! I'm sitting here w/DH watching the Giants baseball game and realized that I forgot to take pictures of his card and create my post for this morning. Wow, I'm getting bad!! We had a really nice brunch with all my girls this morning at DD #1's house and since it was already 95ish by 10:30 we hit the pool. Very nice, except I forgot my camera. Ya know, this aging thing is getting old!!! (no pun intended!! lol) But DH enjoyed his morning anyway, and truth be told, he enjoyed it more without the constant snapping of my camera. So here's his card that all but the actual card base was created from scraps. Yeah!! The card base is Stampin' Up and the rest of the scraps are Recollection. I found the black buttons in the dollar bin at Michael's and the twine is from Scrappy Mom's. Since I don't have any Stampin' Up stamps for Father's Day, I used a combination of Scrappy Mom's and Pink By Design. I made the ticket corners with a retired Stampin' Up punch and I cut the baseball bat/ball with my Cricut from the Father's Day cartridge. Very cute cartridge too! And of course, it had to be Giants orange/black colors!! :) I hope you all have had a chance to spend some time with your dad or at least call him and let him know how much he means to you. Every minute we get with our loved ones is precious, so enjoy the moment!! Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

You've Got Style!

Friday everyone!! I know it's been awhile since I posted. Amazing how life just gets in the way some times. I wanted to share a card I made for one of my bff's birthday. She should be getting this card today, so I think I'm safe in posting it this morning. ;) Oh well, if she see's this post she'll still be surprised!! lol I wanted to play with my Cricut and I thought the Forever Young cartridge was a perfect choice for the Scrappy Mom's sentiment stamps. This set really makes me smile! I used DCWV pp, Stampin' Up ink, and of course, Stickles!! The card stock used for the card base and to cut out the silhouette and label was all from scraps. Yay!! Maybe some day I can use them up, ha ha!! Well, I hope you have a great weekend and have a chance to play. Tonight dh's band is playing at a local bar and grill so I'm super excited to have an evening out, not to mention, play groupie!! lol  Enjoy your day and as always, thanks for stopping by!
