Perfectly Preserved for Friday

Good morning everyone! The weekend is just about here! Yay!! I wanted to share a quick sneak peak of another stamp and framelit set available August 1st in the new Holiday Catalog. This set is so stinkin' cute, I just love it!!! The stamp set is called Perfectly Preserved and the Cannery Set Framelits coordinate perfectly. The sentiment works with the Bitty Banners Framelit set perfectly. Love how SU! coordinates multiple items, makes life easy!! :) I used some of the new Designer Series Paper cut using the Labels Collection Framelits and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder for the texture. I also added some Island Indigo baker's twine for the finishing touch. Hope you have a great day, thanks again for stopping by!!

Merry Christmas in July!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the weekend!! My favorite shopping channel is celebrating Christmas in July the whole weekend, so I thought this might be a good time to share a project with a sneak peek of a few items that will be available with our new holiday catalog that goes live August 1st. I really had a good time with some of the goodies I got from the catalog. In fact I pretty much locked myself in my room last weekend! ;) What a great way to spend the weekend, right? Not only is this a really cute card with some yummy things, but it smells yummy too!! I know you're rereading that last line, but you read it right...it smells yummy too!! lol I will try and share some more goodies throughout the weekend to peak your interest! Have a great evening, and thank you for stopping by my little blog!

Reason to Smile

Hello everyone! I hope you've had a great weekend where you are, mine was pretty good. I went to my upline's house for a workshop and had a great time. Then spent the rest of the weekend playing with all my new things from the upcoming new seasonal catalog that will be available August 1st. Wait til you see all the fun goodies!! I went a little crazy with it and can't wait to share what I've made!! Today I'm sharing a card I made using the stamp set Reason to Smile which can be purchased for only $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase. I used Island Indigo and Whisper White card stock, Island Indigo and Baja Breeze inks, and Island Indigo ruffled ribbon and baker's twine. The other stamp sets used were Fabulous Phrases and Tiny Tags. I used the jewelry punch and the Stripes embossing folder, and of course, just had to add some of the Dazzles, Stampin' Up's version of Stickles. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!  Well,if you see something you like, don't hesitate to contact me. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and as always, thank you so much for stopping by!

First Stampin' Up Challenge

Hello everyone, how is your weekend going so far? I know the weather has been awful for so many back in the mid west and back east, and my prayers go out to all of you.  It's been a long time since I have played in a challenge. Since I became a demonstrator, I have been concentrating on not only my business, but my family as well. But that's not to say I haven't been blog surfing and visiting everyone. :) So, the other day while I was surfing I came across SU-Only Challenges, a challenge site that requires you to use only Stampin' Up supplies. What a great way to use up all my SU scraps from prepping all my workshops! So this week's challenge there was to create something with a bird theme. I used one of the recently retired stamp sets, Clearly for You. I pulled out one of the extra packs that I had prepared for a class that wasn't used in an earlier workshop. It has Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze, and Whisper White cardstocks, and a piece of Twitterpated DSP. The ribbon is also Lucky Limeade. I used the one of the edgelits and the new Paper Piercing Mat and template for the Edgelit and the Decorative Label punch. Then to add some bling, I added some of the pearls. Fun little card for my first challenge. I'm sorry the picture isn't very good, it was taken with my cell phone. My camera battery is dead and the charger is still in our 5th wheel from Memorial Day. Guess I need to get it soon!! lol Head over and check out some of the cute creations for this challenge, they are really "tweet"! ;)  I hope you have a good evening and thank you for stopping by!

Good Sunday Morning!

Hi everyone! How is your weekend going? I know it's been quiet on this blog, I've been busy getting ready for my workshop I had Friday night and life in general. I wanted to share the two cards that I had my girls make. As you may have heard, the new catalog was just released this month so I wanted the girls to have a chance to play with some new toys. Everyone loves to play with new toys, right??  :)  We used  some of the new In-Colors cardstock and ink, some of the new Comfort Cafe DSP, and of course, some new stamps! The first card was made using some of the Gumball Green, Whisper White, and Summer Starfruit cardstock. The GG cardstock was embossed using the Square Lattice folder. I also used the Labels Collection Framelits for the sentiment which is from the new Memorable Moments stamp set. The ribbon is also new, in  the Gumball Green color and we used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen for the faux stitching. I knew the card needed something and since I have a ton of pearls from various vendors, I thought we would use those, but it hardly put a dent in my stash...guess we'll be using more!! lol

The second card was made using Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit cardstock and a strip of the new DSP. The Very Vanilla mat was trimmed with one of the new Edgelits and stamped with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The owl and labels were stamped with one of the new stamps from A Fitting Occasion, which coordinates with some of Stampin' Up punches. That is definitely one of the things I love about Stampin' Up, so many of the stamps coordinate with punches and dies. The girls definitely had a good time on Friday, and I had planned on taking pictures of it, but totally spaced...oops! ;) Well I hope you have a fantastic Sunday, and as always, thank you for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day!!!

Hello everybody! I'm sitting here w/DH watching the Giants baseball game and realized that I forgot to take pictures of his card and create my post for this morning. Wow, I'm getting bad!! We had a really nice brunch with all my girls this morning at DD #1's house and since it was already 95ish by 10:30 we hit the pool. Very nice, except I forgot my camera. Ya know, this aging thing is getting old!!! (no pun intended!! lol) But DH enjoyed his morning anyway, and truth be told, he enjoyed it more without the constant snapping of my camera. So here's his card that all but the actual card base was created from scraps. Yeah!! The card base is Stampin' Up and the rest of the scraps are Recollection. I found the black buttons in the dollar bin at Michael's and the twine is from Scrappy Mom's. Since I don't have any Stampin' Up stamps for Father's Day, I used a combination of Scrappy Mom's and Pink By Design. I made the ticket corners with a retired Stampin' Up punch and I cut the baseball bat/ball with my Cricut from the Father's Day cartridge. Very cute cartridge too! And of course, it had to be Giants orange/black colors!! :) I hope you all have had a chance to spend some time with your dad or at least call him and let him know how much he means to you. Every minute we get with our loved ones is precious, so enjoy the moment!! Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

You've Got Style!

Friday everyone!! I know it's been awhile since I posted. Amazing how life just gets in the way some times. I wanted to share a card I made for one of my bff's birthday. She should be getting this card today, so I think I'm safe in posting it this morning. ;) Oh well, if she see's this post she'll still be surprised!! lol I wanted to play with my Cricut and I thought the Forever Young cartridge was a perfect choice for the Scrappy Mom's sentiment stamps. This set really makes me smile! I used DCWV pp, Stampin' Up ink, and of course, Stickles!! The card stock used for the card base and to cut out the silhouette and label was all from scraps. Yay!! Maybe some day I can use them up, ha ha!! Well, I hope you have a great weekend and have a chance to play. Tonight dh's band is playing at a local bar and grill so I'm super excited to have an evening out, not to mention, play groupie!! lol  Enjoy your day and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Back from the Weekend

Hi everyone! How was your Memorial Day weekend? We usually stay home on holiday weekends, but this year we went camping. We headed to the coast and stayed in a very nice RV park called Hiouchi Hamlet, about 20 minutes inland from Crescent City. The top picture is our home away from home in our site, and the second picture was the view from the door. It was so quiet and peaceful there. We did the tourist thing for a couple of days and on Monday just stayed at the site. I even got some scrapping done on yesterday. I was able to finish a baby book I have been making for my Sissy's daughter who is going to have a baby girl next month. Saturday we went up to Gold Beach, OR and went on a jet boat tour up the Rogue Rive and on Sunday went down to the Trees of Mystery to see the giant redwoods. We went there once when we first moved to No. CA about 20 years ago and we were still awed by these beautiful trees. They added a gondola ride to be able to see the giants from the top. It was absolutely beautiful!! On the way back DH even indulged me in stopping by the LSS in Brookings, OR. Isn't he great?? lol I think I'll keep him! Well, time to change the next load of laundry. Hope you all had a great weekend and remembered that we had this wonderful holiday weekend because of the men and women in uniform, past and present! Have a great week, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Night

Hello everyone, how's your week going? You can tell we're in the middle of spring, everything is green, pollen is flowing, and the weather is getting warmer. Pretty soon we'll be sweltering, but that's for another day! Just wanted to share a card today. One of my bff's shared a Youtube video showing a card made like this and I had to try it. It's made using SU Whisper White, Shimmer Paint, Pastels (chalks), and embossing powder. I didn't use the exact stamp set in the video, but it's very similar. Not only was it easy, but really fun to make! The silhouette stamp was one I picked up on clearance at Joann's and the sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design.  I just went looking for the video, and of course I couldn't find it...so sorry, really wanted to give credit to this talented lady. I really loved making this card, so I think this will be done in one of our workshops soon. I hope you have a nice evening, and as always, thank you for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Let's try this again....was getting ready to publish this post when "POOF" it disappeared! grrrrr! I hate when that happens!!! Any way, I just wanted to wish all my blog friends a Happy Mother's Day. I wanted to share a version of the card the girls did in my workshop on Friday night. The corner piece comes off to make a bookmark. Pretty clever, huh? I'm not sure who created this, but I think it's adorable! I used all Stampin' Up products for this, except the stamp. I know that sounds awful, but I don't have any Mother's Day sentiments from Stampin' Up yet. I used a Pink By Design for the sentiment. The pictures below are of the card the girls made, and they did use SU stamps. ;)

I just want to thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Saturday Evening

Hello everyone. How was your Saturday? I'm sorry I haven't been around for awhile, been really busy with a couple of workshops and getting ready for Mother's Day. I may not have been posting much, but I still check out everyone's blog when I can. I wanted to share a card that one of my co-workers asked me to make for his 90 year old aunt. She just got her license renewed and he wanted something special for her. I used my Nifty Fifties and Groovy Times Cricut Cartridges, Pink By Design Stamps, Recollection, DCWV, and American Crafts cardstock, Stampin' Up Ink, Walmart Nail Heads, and Martha Stewart border punch. He absolutely loved it! I hope his aunt does too. Well, thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it. I hope you have a nice evening, and if I don't make it by tomorrow, have a great Mother's Day!

I Really Am Still Here!! :)

Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I've been super busy prepping for a workshop last week and a craft fair that was held at work today. Phew! I think I need a vacation!! lol Not really, but I have been very focused on these two events. We had a great turnout for both and the ladies really enjoyed their projects. Here are some pictures of my table at the craft fair. You can see the little purses we made Friday night at the workshop.
The ladies really had fun with them. I painted the picture frame and stamped the mat on my Stampin' Up logo. And my really cute business cards that DD #2 had made for me are in front. Like my $2.99 card holder that I decorated?? It even has a little leopard flower on it! ;) All the cards on the right side of the table were challenge cards I've created over the last year or so. Quite the collection huh?? I thought this was the perfect answer to my over-grown card collection and promote my Stampin' Up business too! I had a lot of fun, so all my prep time was worth it! Well, time to get ready for another fun-filled day at work. Ya know, this job thing really gets in the way of my play time!! lol But then it really helps pay for all my toys!! ;) Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a good evening.

Baby Shower

Happy Sunday everyone!!! I'm on my way out the door for a baby shower and I just wanted to share the card I made. I don't have any baby stamps from my Stampin' Up stash yet so I threw together a combination of Pink By Design and Scrappy Moms stamps. I was having a hard time with design of the card, so I grabbed one of my magazines and CASED this. I used Stampin' Up cardstock and ink, Recollection cardstock, some K and Company patterned paper, and some dollar bin ribbon from M's. The adhesive gems are from M's too. This is a short post since I'm getting ready to leave, but as always, thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Good morning everyone! Just a quick post in remembrance of my dad who would have been 83 today. It's hard to believe he's been gone almost 4 years now. They say the heart heals in time, but some days I'm not so sure. Anyway, I wanted to share a layout I made of him and my mom. I was going through some old pictures of them and just had to create something. This picture was taken in 1969 when my dad was president of the Canoga Park Rotary Club. I remember they had a lot of fun with many friends back then and always going out.
I used all kinds of stuff from my stash on this, 3 Birds paper and doily border sticker, Doily stamp, punches, and ink from Stampin' Up, Recollection flowers and cardstock, a doily from M's, Perfect Pearls Mist, Stickles, White Gelly Roll pen, MS butterfly stamps....oh and a stick pin from Making Memories. Phew! What a list!! :) Any way, I hope you like it and I want to thank you for stopping by. Happy Birthday Daddy!! I love you!!

Oh no, not 40!

Hi everyone! Sorry to be MIA for so long. Both DH and I have been sick and it just wouldn't go away. I think I was sick most of March, yuck! I was beginning to think maybe we needed to invest in Kleenex, Nyquil, and Campbell's soup since we went through so much of the stuff! lol We're finally back with the living, thank goodness. Hope everyone had a good Easter too, ours was pretty quiet. So I thought I'd share a card for my SIL who turned 40 a few weeks ago. You can't have a milestone birthday without a buzzard, right? So I pulled out my Life's a Party cartridge and a couple of MS punches, some stamps from M's, a couple of scraps and voila! It took me about 2 hours to put this together, probably from a bac over the limit due to Nyquil!! ha ha Trying to put that bird together was hysterical, but I was determined to get it done even if it killed me!!! He liked it and that was all that mattered to me. I want to thank everyone who stopped by while I was away, I ALWAYS love to hear from you! And trust me, even though I've haven't been posting, I have been lurking and enjoying all your creations! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a nice evening!

Repurposing...cards too???

Hello everyone, happy Tuesday!! We're getting ready to head over to DD #2's house for a birthday dinner for her boyfriend and I wanted to share his card. So I made this card last July for a couple of challenges and it was actually an invitation. You can see the original post here. Well like most scrappers, I NEVER throw anything away and have 2 big boxes filled with all my cards. Knowing that DD gave her boyfriend a new bbq for his birthday, I thought this card was perfect. Luckily for most of my challenges I don't finish the inside of the cards, so I pulled this card out and voila! I repurposed it as a birthday card! And since I was short on time, this worked perfect!! I used a Pink By Design stamp for the front, and the sentiment stamp is from My Craft Spot. Easy peasy! They're planning on a bbq tonight, which should be interesting since it's been raining ALL day! Oh well, should be fun anyway. I hope you have a great evening, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

So to celebrate the coming of Spring, I thought I'd share a card I made for DD #3 last week. I finally bought some Wobbles and thought this was a great time to try them out. She LOVED it!! The best part was the huge smile on her face. I hope you enjoy the card, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
