Rocker Chick

Hey everybody! Happy Friday!! Just a really quick post today. I made this card for my granddaughter's 17th birthday and wanted to enter it over at Birthday Sundaes anything goes challenge. I like how it turned out. I used Recollection cardstock for the card base and part of the sentiment tag, Bazzil cardstock as the mat and scalloped portion of the sentiment tag, and K and Co pp. The ribbon is from Michael's and the sentiment stamp from Pink by Design. I used a brown Zig pen for the stitching and my white Gelly Roll for the doodling on the sentiment tag. The guitar is cut from Life's a Party and I colored it with my Martha Stewart glitter markers. I was surprised at how sparkly those pens are, too bad it doesn't really show in the picture. Also, just wanted to remind everyone about my 100 Followers blog candy. I'm almost there and some lucky crafty person can win. To see the fun goodies just go here. Be sure to leave me a comment and how I can get in touch with you when you win! Well, better run, time to make dinner and then go to my card workshop tonight. Yay!! So much fun with the girls!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Each Day is a Gift!

Hello everybody! Hope your Monday has been a good one. I was able to spend a little time in my room today and made this card for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #14 over at More than Favors. This week the challenge was to use the Indie Art. I've only used this cartridge a few times and each time I do I wonder why I don't use it more, it's got some really cute things on it. The card base and black mat are made from scraps in my stash and the pp is from the new DCWV Glamor Gal stack. The butterfly and sentiment mats were cut from scraps as well and the ribbon is from Michael's. The sentiment stamp is from Pink by Design and cut the tag with my Stampin' Up oval and scalloped oval punches and added some doodling with my white Gelly Roll pen. I tried to distress the  card and mats and realized I don't like scrapping the paper with my craft knife or any of my files. The whole sensation gives me the shudders, kind of like nails on a chalkboard! Oh well, the things we do for our hobbies!! lol Well, hope you like the card and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Blow Bubbles!

Hello everyone, hope you are having a good weekend and that spring has finally arrived for you. It sure has here, mostly sunny, flowers blooming and of course the birds are singing! I enjoyed some time out and about this morning and then enjoyed some "me" time in my room. I finished up this card for the Terrific Tuesday Challenge over at Scrappy Moms using the New Arrival cartridge. The card base and mats were cut from Just Because Cards. I used Recollection cardstock for the base and the pp is from a DCWV stack. The tub and bubbles are cut from New Arrival with cardstock scraps in my stash. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I used some metallic paper in a gold tone trying to get a brassy look. I then distressed the white portion of the tub with some Colorbox Cat's Eye chalk ink to break up some of the white. I then added some Stickles to the bubbles and some rain drop jewels from the shower head. I used my black Gelly Roll pen for some doodling. The sentiment tag is also distressed with chalk in and popped up with Stampin' Up dimensionals, as is the tub. The sentiment stamp is from one of the sets of Scrappy Mom's stamps that I won. I have all but one of their sets, and as soon as pay day gets here, I'll be buying that one too! LOVE their stamps!!!! Well, I hope you like the card and the rest of your weekend is good to you. As always, thanks for stopping by!!

To My Favorite Chick

Hello everyone and happy Monday! Hope it's been a good one for everyone, it was a typical busy one at work today so I was feeling like I needed some "therapy" when I got home! lol Nothing like crafting therapy to make the day better!! So here's a card I made for the CCCC #13 over at Two Scraptastic Gals. This week's challenge you could use either Storybook or Wrap it Up, and since I don't have Wrap it Up, you get the idea.... I chose to make the cockatoo. The card base and map are from Recollection, the pp is from one of my first paper pads I ever purchased, K & Co. I did the shading on the cockatoo with a combination of colored pencils and Pebbles Inc. chalks. I added Stickles to his eye and some of the pp and on the butterfly that I punched with a Martha Stewart stamp and punch combination. The ribbon is from Joann's and I added some stitching with my Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper. Looking at the picture now, I think I need to practice my coloring though, not really happy with the way the bird turned out. Oh well, it's all fun. I hope you like it and that you have a great week! Thanks for stopping by.

Sunny Sunday

Hello, hope you all have had a great Sunday, ours turned out to be sunny and no showers. Very beautiful day! I did play a little in my room, created a layout from our trip and made one card for the challenge over at Birthday Sundaes. The challenge was to follow an inspiration picture. For this card I used Bazzil cardstock for the card base, Recollection cardstock for the mat and sentiment mat, and pp from DCWV. The sentiments were from two different companies, the first sentiment from Scrappy Mom's stamps and the second from Pink by Design, and the cherry stamp from Stampin' Up. I used a Nestabilities die to cut the sentiment mat, a very quick card to create. Well, hope you like it and as always, thanks for stopping by.

Multiple Cards for Multiple Challenges

Hello everyone. Hope your weekend is going well. So far so good here, even had some sun today but tomorrow we're supposed to see some showers. I actually played in my room most of the day, which is just the way I like it!! lol I worked on cards again, but hopefully I'll be able to spend some time in there tomorrow and work on some layouts. The first card here is for 3 challenges, all birthday themes. The challenges are for Birthday Sundaes, anything goes; More Than Favors, birthday anything goes, and Celebrate the Occasion, anything goes with a flower. I used Recollection cardstock for the card base, and both mats. The pp is from DCWV Celebration stack which is perfect for birthdays. The sentiment mat was cut with my new Nestabilities die. The elephant stamp was one I found in the dollar bin at Michael's and with "Water for Elephants" getting ready to come out, I couldn't resist!! If you haven't read the book, you need to, and of course, see the movie! I colored it with my Stampin' Up water color pencils and added Stickles to the balloons and the hat was colored with a Martha Stewart's glitter marker. The ribbon is from Michael's, the flower is a sticker from Walmart, and the buttons were from my stash. I used some embroidery floss from my stash too. The sentiment stamp is from a Scrappy Mom's stamp set.
This second card is for challenges over at Cricut Cardz and Paper Cutz and was created with Bazzil cardstock for the base, pp from DCWV, and Recollections for the bottom half of the mat and to create the basket, eggs, grass, and bunny peeps which all were cut with the Doodle Charm cartridge. I used my Martha Stewart fringe scissors to create the grass. The basket was run through the Cuttlebug with the Herringbone embossing folder. I then tied a piece of bakers twine from the Twinery on the handle. I used a Marvy marker for the eyes on my peeps and the stitching. I used my white Gelly Roll pen on two of the little eggs and a glitter pen on the other. The ribbon is from Michael's and the sentiment stamp is from Scrappy Mom's. Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my cards. Take care!

You Bake Me Happy!

Hello again, hope your Friday evening has been a good one. Today I was able to play in my room for a little while and made this card for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #12 over at More Than Favors. The cartridge chosen for this card is From My Kitchen. I really like that cartridge, but haven't used it much. There are some really cute things on it. The card base is from the Paper Company and the pp is from the Nana's Kitchen stack by DCWV. I really like their papers. The cake was cut from a combination of papers from DCWV and Bazzil, the pp piece was from a piece from my scraps so I'm not sure which company it's from. I added Stickles to the plate and some of the frosting, as well as ran through my Cuttlebug to get that look like a homemade frosted cake. Since DH's favorite cake is yellow with chocolate frosting, I had to use that color combination. The sentiment stamp is from Scrappy Mom's and I cut the little tag with my Nestabilities then added some bling from Michael's. Speaking of Scrappy Mom's ...I won the March drawing at Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenges!! Woo Hoo!!! Had my choice of stamp sets as my winnings, so I chose one of their new releases, All In The Family. Now I only have to purchase the other new release, Special Delivery and I'll have all their sets to date. When you have a chance, stop by their site and check out their stamps. Well thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

Two More Challenges

Hello everyone, hope your Sunday is going well. I just wanted to upload this card for 2 challenges. One of the challenges is over at More than Favors for their Wacky Wednesday Challenge which was for a funny card, and the other is over at My Creative Time which was for a Cricut-less card using a sketch. This card was made using Recollection cardstock and K & Co. pattern paper and one of my Martha Stewart paper punches. I think the stamp set is by Ink-a-dink-ado, but I'm not sure. The ribbon is from Michael's and I did the faux stitching with a Zig marker. I also used my new Nestabilities for the piece that was stamped. Well, hope you like it and thanks again for stopping by!

It's the weekend!!

Hello everyone! Hope your weekend is going well, mine has been great. The weather is actually spring-like here, sunny and 70's, and we even had a mid 80's this week! woo hoo! Well I had a chance to work on a couple of cards today. This one is for two challenges, one over at Celebrate the Occasion and the other is at Cricut Cardz. Both challenges included a house, a new house at CTO and a house with a touch of lace and a flourish at CC. I cut one of the houses from Create a Critter. The card base and house are cut from Recollection cardstock. I'm not sure who the pp is from since it was in my stash. The lacy ribbon is from Walmart as is the nail head I used as the doorknob. The sentiment stamp is from Scrappy Mom stamps and the wood grain on the door is from a Cosmo Cricket stamp set. The flowers in the window flower box are from Prima and I put Stickles in the center and throughout the pp. I also used some Martha Stewart ink and a Zig marker to create the greenery on the flower box. The heart on the house was heat embossed with some Zing glitter embossing powder. Well, hope you like the card and as always, thanks for stopping by!
