Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #11

Happy Monday! Sure hope you've had a good day. We were lucky enough to finally see the sun, ALL day!! What a novel concept! lol Rain for almost 7 full days is a little too much even for someone who likes the rain like me. Here's my card for the challenge over at Two Scraptastic Gals. The cartridge for this challenge is Forever Young. Such a cute girly cartridge! I used Recollection cardstock for the card base, mat, sentiment tag, and the girl. The pp is from DCWV All About Girls matstack. The sentiment is from Pink By Design and the bling and ribbon is from Michael's. Well, hope you like the card and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #2

Hello everyone! Hope you all are having a good Sunday. It's still raining here, the sunshine we had yesterday was very short lived. But I hear we're supposed to see sunshine and near mid 70's by Wednesday!! woo hoo! So since it still feels like winter here it was nice to have a touch of spring with this next challenge at
Birthday Sundaes. The challenge was to make a birthday card with a spring theme and nothing says spring like birds and flowers! And, I was able to make this entire card from scraps!! yippee!! The cardstock used was a combination of Bazzil and Recollections and the pp was a scrap from DCWV's Flower Shower, one of my favorites. I used the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge for the bird and the sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper. I used Stampin Up punches for the sentiment tag and also used my Fiskars Threading Water border punch for the top of the yellow mat. I thought that went well with the pp that had the same effect on the bottom of the piece I used. It also had glitter on it and now I think I should have used Stickles on the top of my mat....oh well, I did use some on the bird though, couldn't have a card without Stickles!! LOVE my Stickles!!! :)  The bow is made with American Crafts ribbon and the button and embroidery thread are from my stash. The thread is actually from a tin of thread that I have since I was about 12 years old, one of my first craft obsessions! I probably have a couple hundred colors in that tin, lol. I keep telling DH this is why I never throw anything away!!  Anyway, hope you like the card and as always, thanks for stopping by!

More Challenges

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope it's a good one for everyone. The sun is actually shining, at least for the moment. I have two more cards for two more challenges. The first card is for the Thank You with a tag challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion. The card base is from Bazzil, the mat, tag, and strawberry are cut from Recollection cardstock. The strawberry is from the Indie Art cartridge and the tag from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge, and I distressed it with a Colorbox chalk ink pad. I think the pp is from October Afternoon. I bought a single sheet from my LSS last year and had it in my stash. I used my Martha Stewart Loopy Punch on the edge of the mat and my black Gelly Roll pen for the stitching, and of course there's plenty of Stickles. The twine on the tag is from the Twinery and I used the sentiment stamp form one of the My Pink Stampers set. The second card is for the Wacky Wednesday Challenge over at More Than Favors. That challenge is to make a Manly Card. This card is a birthday card for my SIL who is a contractor. I used my Handy Man Lite cartridge. The card base is from Bazzil, the mats and wrench are from Recollection cardstock. I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder on it trying to get the look of a peg board. The pp is a sheet I bought at the Scrapbook Expo knowing it would go great with this cartridge. The sentiment stamp is from Pink by Design and the nail head on the sentiment piece is from I Rock. Well, hope you like my cards and that you enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks again for stopping by!

1 Card, 3 Challenges

Good morning. Happy Friday!! I've always liked Fridays, but now that my schedule at work allows me to have all Fridays off, I LOVE Friday!!  hehe Here's another card I was able to make yesterday which I was able to incorporate for 3 challenges. The first challenge is for More Than Favors, which is their Cricut Cartridge Chaos  Challenge #10 using the Doodle Charms cartridge. This was one of my first cartridges, as I'm sure for everyone, but it has some cute basic shapes. I always turn to this one in a pinch. The second challenge is with Card Cupids, making something with a spring theme and since Scrappy Mom's is sponsoring this challenge, I had to use the sentiment stamp from one of their sets. The third challenge is with Cricut Cardz, also using a spring theme with the colors pink, green, and white. See why I was able to use one card for all three? ;) The card base is from Bazzil, the pp on the first mat and the mat under the flower were from my stash, so unfortunately I don't know who the manufacturers are. I used Recollection cardstock to cut the white mat with my new Nestabilites die, then I felt the white was too sharp of a contrast so I spritz it with some Tattered Angels glitter mist in Tutti Fruitti. I also spritzed the mat under the die cut with some Hula Hoop mist. Too bad you can't see the shimmer on these in the picture. I think it turned out nice. The face stamp is from Peachy Keen and I highlighted the cheeks with some Pebbles chalk. And of course, had to use some Stickles on the petals of the flowers. All in all I thought this turned out pretty cute. I hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday!

Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenge

Hello! How has everyone's Thursday going? Very rainy and windy here today. I know it's spring, but you sure couldn't tell around here! Makes for great crafting time. I worked on a couple of cards today and a project for my mom's birthday. Here's the card I made for Scrappy Mom's challenge which was to use the Smiley Card cartridge. The card base is made from Bazzil cardstock and the pp was from a DCWV stack. The tea cup and sentiment tag were cut from scraps, the tag was diecut with a Nestabilities die. The lace ribbon was from Walmart and the pearls are some I found at the Scrapbook Expo made by a company called Want 2 Scrap. The sentiment stamp is from one of Scrappy Mom's sets, the face stamp is from Peachy Keen and I used Stampin Up ink for both. I used some Colorbox chalk inks to add some color to the tag and some Pebbles chalk for the cheeks. And last, but not least, used my Gelly Roll pen for the stitching. Well, I hope you like it. Feel free to leave a comment, and as always, thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Sundaes First Challenge

Hi everyone, hope you have had a great Sunday. I spent most of it in my room making birthday cards. This is a busy week for us because we have 5 birthdays in our family. So of course I had to post one of these cards for the challenge. This card is for my FIL. I used Bazzil cardstock for the card base and the pp is from the new DCWV Celebration stack. The car and the Route 66 sign were cut from the Nifty Fifties cartridge. Really cute cartridge, very retro. I used my black Gelly Roll pen for the stitching, and nail heads from Walmart were used on the hub caps and top left corner of the card. The sentiment stamp is from Pink by Design stamps. Be sure to stop by birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com and check out all the cute cards that have been posted. There are some really talented ladies over there. Well hope you like the card and as always, thanks for stopping by!

CCCC #9 Life's a Beach Challenge

Happy Monday! Today was a long one at the office cuz all I wanted to do was play in my room. Where oh where is that winning lotto ticket?!? lol So when I got home I headed straight there and whipped up this card for the challenger over at Two Scraptastic Gals. I rummaged through my scraps and found the cute surf board paper from a DCWV summer stack, of course some of my Recollection cardstock for the base and the red mat, Bazzil for the blue mat and the hand. I chalked the hand trying to give it more of a "tanned" look, but I'm not sure I like it. I tried to differentiate the fingernails too. The sentiment stamp is from Pink by Design and I used my white Gelly Roll pen for the stitching. Well, DH is home and I'm sure he'd like dinner :) so I better run. Thanks for stopping by!

St. Patty's Day Card

Hello all! Hope you've had a good weekend. It was a busy day and only had time to get one card made and not a single layout. Oh well. I made this card for 2 challenges, 1 at Celebrate the Occasion, which btw I won their challenge last week with my Leprechaun Hat card (woo hoo!!), and the other at My Creative Time. Speaking of which, everyone say a prayer for Miss Emma of MCT. She and her family are waiting to hear the outcome of some tests done on her husband. Scary stuff, but she knows her crafting family is behind her! Now, back to my card. I used Recollection cardstock, pp from DCWV Linen Closet stack, Peachykeen face stamps, sentiment stamp from Scrappy Moms stamps and my white gel pen. The scallop oval and oval were punched with Stampin Up punches. Well thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a fantastic week!

CCCC #8 and Wacky Wednesday #29 Color Challenge

Hello, happy Saturday! Hope everyone is having a good weekend, mine has been pretty good so far. Any day I get to play in my room is a good day! lol I was only able to make a couple of cards today because I spent most of my morning trying to update my Gypsy. What a nightmare that was! But was finally able to complete it. Any way, back to the challenge. I  was able to incorporate this card for both challenges over at More Than Favors. The Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge was to use the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge, and the Wacky Wednesday Challenge was to use purple, yellow, and green. It was actually a really fun challenge and combining the two was pretty easy. I used Recollection cardstock for the card base, Core'dinations for the first mat and Recollection for the second mat. I cut the mat with my new Nestabilities die and then I distressed it with some Color Box chalk ink. The birdhouse base was cut from DCWV glitter matstack and the trim was more Recollection. (some day I may use it all! lol) I then put some Firefly Stickles on it. The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper. Hope you like my card and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Sunday!

Good morning all! Hope your Sunday is going well, still gray and gloomy here in Northern CA, but that's ok, we still need the rain and I can play in my scrap room!! Before I go and hide in there for the rest of the day, I thought I'd post another card I made yesterday. It's actually for 2 challenges, one over at Celebrate the Occasion, and the other at My Creative Time. The CTO challenge was to make a project using green, white and one other color of your choice, and the challenge at MCT was to use an older cartridge to create something for St. Patty's Day....very easy to combine these two, even for me! lol This card was made using A Child's Year cartridge. The cardstock for this was out of my scraps, which is from Recollections. I made the pp mat using a stamp from Inkadinkadoo and some pigment ink by Studio G out of the dollar section at Michael's. The glitter glue I used is also from Studio G. The little button brad is from Hot Off the Press and the stitching was done with my white Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment stamp is also from Inkadinkadoo. Well, hope you like it and you have a great Sunday. Take care!

Wacky Wednesday #28 - Zoo Challenge

Hi all, how was your Saturday? It was pretty gloomy today, a perfect day to spend in the scrap room! Especially since I'm getting over the flu. Yuck! Thankfully it didn't hang around too long, but then again, 1 hour is too long!! :) So, to brighten things up I worked on my card for the challenge over at More Than Favors. I used my new Life's a Party cartridge for the lion, just love his cute little face! The cardstock I used for the card base is from Recollections, as is part of the body on the lion, and the balance of cardstock is Bazzill. I used a new Gelly Roll fine point in black for the stitching that I bought this morning. Really liked how it worked. Also used my white Gelly Roll for the stitching on the card base. The pp is from DCWV All About Boys matstack. I cut the sentiment mat with my Cuttlebug using my new Nestabilities die cut set then used my Color Box chalk ink to distress it. The stamp set is from Pink by Design and the ribbon is from Michael's. Well hope you like it and as always, thanks for stopping by!
