Monday Evening

Wow, can't believe it's been so long since I posted! It's unbelievable how much life gets in the way of play time! ;) I hope you are having a good start to your week. We have several fires burning in the area so it's extremely smokey here. I have to say that my thoughts and prayers are for those that are in these fires paths. With it being so hot and dry, it doesn't take much for the fires to take off. So since it's so smokey here that it's just best to stay in, perfect excuse to craft (after work of course!). I finished prepping two projects for my workshop for Friday and had a couple extra minutes to work on some personal stuff. I needed to make a sympathy card for a friend that lost her dad. I struggle with these kinds of cards, but they are even more important as far as I'm concerned, because you want to convey so much to the recipient. Well, I better finish this post, the Giants are playing the Dodgers and I don't want to miss it. It's a tough one for me to watch, I'm a Giants fan since we live in No. CA, but since I grew up in LA I've always been partial to the Dodgers I'll have to share a layout I made of DH and me when we were in SF at a game. We both wore our colors!! lol Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

Crop 'n Christmas Cards

Hello everyone! Just wanted to post some pics from the crop I had with some of the ladies. We had a blast! I went to the Dollar Store to pick up some table cloths and thought I might be able to find something Christmasy since all my decorations are in the garage. Well, nothing for Christmas yet, I know, big surprise, but I did find some luau decorations, and they had such fun colors too! So with this in mind, someone mentioned we should watch the movie "Blue Hawaii", but I didn't have that, but had "Donovan's Reef" with John Wayne. I'm a HUGE JW fan, and since it was filmed in Hawaii and takes place at Christmas....bingo! Perfect movie for our crop!!! :) I'm one that likes to have the TV on when I scrap, but I like it to be something I've seen before so I don't have to really concentrate on it.

As you can tell in the pics, I really had to move my furniture around to accommodate the tables. Thank goodness for laminate floors!! lol Also, you can see we didn't starve!! :) I hope you like the pics, I learned how to set my timer and am actually in the group picture, lei and all!! Thank you so much for stopping by...enjoy the rest of your evening.

Yay! It's Friday!!!! :)

Happy Friday!!! How has your week been? It's been warm here, but then that's to be expected for July/August in Redding. I haven't had much time to get in my scraproom this week because of work (that just really gets in my the way of my fun time!!) plus last weekend we had company. My BFF from high school, who is now married to another really good friend from high school came through on their way home from Oregon. We had a great time playing host/tourist. We took them up to Burney Falls and hiked around there for awhile. It's amazing how the temperature changes the closer you get to the falls. From there we headed up to Lassen National Park. We've lived here for 23 years and have never gone through the park, that's just sad! I think at one point we were at about 9000 feet. So beautiful and the temps there were absolutely wonderful, only about 75, which was a nice change since it was around 102 here at the house. Well, gotta get ready for my day. Tomorrow I am hosting a crop here at the house. It's the first time I've hosted one and I'm really looking forward to it. I called it "Crop 'n Christmas Cards", kind of catchy title, huh? I wanted those that don't scrap to have a chance to come and play too. I'll post some pics of it later this weekend. I hope you have a great weekend and that you have a chance to do something fun! Thanks for stopping by!
