MIL's CASED Birthday Card

Hey everyone, how was your Tuesday? I took the day off since we traveled down to Sacramento for the SU! catalog premiere, which was amazing!!! There are some really cute things in there that I can't wait to get my hands on to play with!! :) And my first swap was a success!! It was really fun meeting so many other ladies who love stamping and crafting as much as I do. I know, that's the whole idea behind this adventure, right?? ;) Any way, since I was short on time tonight, I thought, hey, why not case one of my swaps? lol

I'm sorry these pictures are so bad, I couldn't find my camera and used my cell phone. This card was cased from Jeannie Barron, isn't it cute? She did hers in purples, but since my MIL is a fan of peaches and tans, I went that route. I really like how it turned out with this color combo. All items but the ribbon are from SU!, as for the ribbon, I was being lazy and grabbed a piece out of my scrap ribbon jar, it happens. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good evening.

Here's a complete list of items:

Calypso Coral cardstock and ink
Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and DSP
Baked Brown Sugar cardstock
Basic Jewels
Peaceful Petals Stamp set

My First SU! Event and a Swap

Hey everyone! Hope you've had a good weekend. Sunday evenings are always so hard for me since I've got to go to bed early for Monday. But this week is different. See, tomorrow I get to go to my first Stampin' Up event, so to say I'm excited is an understatement!!! SU! is holding a red carpet type event for demonstrators for the upcoming catalog release and since it's only a couple of hours from home, I just had to go. I also joined a swap with some other demonstrators (another first for me) and have been working on these cards for awhile. Of course, I can't ever do anything simple..multiple layers, sponging, ribbon, bling.....it's all there.  ;)

The swap was for 20+1 with at least 2 layers and 1 embellishment. I wasn't really thinking about how much work there was to making the card when I created it, but, when you are mass producing them, definitely think about it. LOL I stamped the front with People Like You stamp, then heat embossed it with clear powder and sponged it, 2 techniques I love. I love that this stamp incorporates the Decorative Label Punch so you know you just have to use it! I thought the sentiment from A Dozen  Thoughts stamp set worked perfect. Here's a complete list of supplies:

People Like You Single Stamp
A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set
Chocolate Chip Cardstock and Ink
Bermuda Bay Cardstock and Ink
Whisper White Cardstock
Clear embossing powder
Bermuda Bay taffeta ribbon
Basic Jewels
Decorative Label Punch
Stampin' Dimensionals
SU! Daubers
Snail Adhesive

Well, thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic week!! Take care!

Easter Blessings

Hey everyone! How was your Wednesday? We definitely are in the middle of spring here, there is pollen EVERYWHERE! Even my poor little pom Chloe is suffering from allergies. I've never seen a dog with allergies before. Poor thing, eyes watering, doing that reverse sneeze thing and just miserable. The vet even has her on antihistamines. She definitely fits in with the rest of us in the house!!  :)

Anyway, I wanted to share a quick card I made for Easter. I wanted something simple, yet elegant. I cased this from another demo (sorry, can't remember her name.) and knew this was what I was looking for.
I love how clean and simple it is, but then I think that tends to be my style. Well, this is a short post tonight, just wanted to try and get back into the swing of things in posting. I hope you have a great evening, and I thank you for stopping by.

Project Life coming to Stampin' Up! :)

Did you hear the news today? Stampin' Up! and Becky Higgins are partnering to bring Project Life to Stampin' Up! How cool is that?? SU! seemed to get away from scrapbooking last year and I know many people were upset by this. I have looked at PL several times, but always passed it up. Well....guess who's NOT passing it up now?? lol  Here's a video of the announcement:

I'm really looking forward to this as I have missed scrapping!! That was what brought me to this wonderful hobby in the first place! ;) You will be able to order your items beginning May 1st and demonstrators before that. One of the many perks of being a demonstrator!! If you'd like to join the fun, you can go go here and join my team.  I will relay more information as it becomes available to us.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing the excitement with me and I hope you have a great evening!
