Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Can you believe it's New Years already? So hard to believe! I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for all the support, visits, and fun comments of the past year. I know I don't get a chance to post as often as I'd like, but I wanted everyone to know how much you all mean to me! I also wanted to post a quick New Years card I made and sent out to some of my crafty girl friends. Just a simple card, but I thought it was kind of festive. Also, I want to wish you and yours a very Happy and prosperous New Year to you all and thank you for taking time out of your busy lives to visit me. Stay safe and enjoy your day!

Last Sunday of 2012

How was your last Sunday of the year? Mine was pretty good, did some grocery shopping, crafting, and spent time with DD #2. She was gone for Christmas so this was good to see her. Last night while I was checking e-mails and blogs, I found that my friend Diana at DL Art has a couple of challenges getting ready to end this week. So today while I was in my room, I thought I'd make a quick card for one of them. I chose the Thankful Thursday Challenge which was called for an ornament and ribbon. I know, Christmas is over, but I thought, hey, what better way to get started on next year's cards, right?? ;) Hopefully I can keep this up and maybe make one a week...sounds like a pretty good resolution to me! I hope you have a good evening, and I thank you for stopping by.

All supplies from SU! except ribbon which was from my stash.

Sunday Evening

Hello everyone. I wanted to share some cards, bags, and tags that we made last Saturday at our December play date. Instead of a monthly workshop we opted for a play date where the girls could work on their current project or on a bundle of cards, bags, and tags. We had a blast! We decided to have a potluck lunch, which is always yummy, and then since it was my birthday the following day, they surprised me with balloons and a decadent chocolate cheesecake. Love my girlfriends!!!

This is the first bag we did, which I CASED from a fellow demo.

Matching card.

Second card we made.

Gift bag with jingle bells.

 Third card with matching bag

And the last gift bag we made.

Well I hope you had a good weekend and I thank you for stopping by. Have a great week!

Sunday Morning

Good morning everyone. What a week its been. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Newtown. I cannot imagine the incredible pain they are in right now. One of my fellow demonstrators shared the address of the school for those that want to send cards. I know it's a small thing, but we can show our support to so many by sending a simple card. The address is: Sandy Hook Elementary School 12 Dickenson Drive Newtown, CT 06482.

Happy December!

Wow! I can't believe it's December already! I took 2 weeks of vacation from work to enjoy Thanksgiving and get everything and everyone in the house ready for Christmas. Did I accomplish that? Yeah right! We did enjoy Thanksgiving, but the rest of the time things just came up. :( And, I caught a cold on top of it!! So, I've been meaning to share some pics of our new little furbaby, so figured now was a good time.
This is Chloe. She's a 7 month old Pomeranian, but there's definitely some Chihuahua in there somewhere. lol  She's all of 4 lbs. and according to the vet, won't get any bigger. With that in mind, we had her spayed this last Tuesday, so that kept me pretty busy. My youngest daughter got her when she was only 7 weeks old and just wasn't prepared for the needs of a baby. So guess who got her?? ;)
Here she is with her "cone of shame". She's so tiny they had to use a cone that is made for cats. Over all though, she's doing well. The 1 stitch (that shows you how small she is!!) from the incision is due to come out on Friday.

Needless to say, the bows didn't last long! lol This was taken the day before Thanksgiving. She is a little pistol though and really  makes me laugh. Well,  that's it for tonight. I know there will be more pictures of her in the future. I hope you have a good week, and I thank you for stopping by.

Gobble 'til You Wobble!!

Hey everyone! Just a quick post to wish everyone in blog-land a Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope you all enjoy lots of good food, good friends and most of all, good family!!! Here's a quick card I made using my Cricut and scraps from my stash. Haven't played much with my Cricut lately, so I thought I'd dust her off! Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Week!!

Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving week!! I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks woo hoo!! Super excited!! I know most people think I'm crazy to want to stay home for my vacation, but I've got A LOT planned. First, today is a play day with my DD #1 who is also on vacation. We're going to be scrappin' the day away!! What better way to start your vacation?? Then of course getting ready for Thanksgiving, which is here at my house. (as usual) :p I'm planning on getting all my baking done next week, and since I've been Christmas shopping since July, get everything wrapped and under the tree by the time I go back to work. That's the plan....now let's see if I can execute it!! lol

So with Thanksgiving only a couple of days away, I wanted to share a card. I used some of the left overs from one of my workshops and changed it up a little using a different stamp and adding some glitter.
And don't forget that today is the beginning of Stampin' Up's Online Extravaganza. There are selected items that are 20-50% off. The sale is for 10 days and the first (today) and last day there are special items that are only sale for only 24 hrs. You can visit my online store here and check it out. Of course I have already put my order in...can't pass up a good sale!! ;)

Well DD just showed up so it's time to go play. I want to thank you for stopping by and wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving! Remember to "gobble 'til you wobble' and enjoy this time with family and friends!!

My Favorite Veteran

Hello everyone. I apologize it's been so long since my last post. It's been so crazy around here and I know it's just going to get more hectic with the holidays coming. Speaking of which, here are the cards my ladies made Friday night at our workshop. We had a full house here with plenty of laughs...great girl's night that's for sure.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of our vets, past and present, for their service and to post a picture of my favorite vet. This is my dad at about age 18. What a cutie!! ;)  Four years ago today he went home to Heaven, so this day has extra meaning for me and my family. It was fitting that he passed on Veterans Day as he was the most patriotic man I have ever known. There anything he wouldn't do for his country and he served it well. Take a moment to remember all who have, who are, or who will serve this country so that we have our freedom, for freedom isn't free!

I hope you have a great evening, and as always, thank you for stopping by.

Sunday Evening

Hello everyone. Hope your weekend has been a good one. Have to say my thoughts and prayers are with everyone on the east coast preparing for the storm. If any of you are in the path of Sandy, please be safe!

Just wanted to share another card from our workshop last week. I also wanted to remind everyone too, about the sale tomorrow at Stampin' Up! Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Have a good evening, and thanks for stopping by.

Did Someone Say Sale???

Happy Saturday everyone!! How's your weekend going so far? Have you heard the news? Stampin' Up! is having a sale!! From what I understand, in the almost 25 years that SU! has been in business, they have never had a sale like this!! How exciting is that??? On Monday, October 29th, nearly every stamp from SU! will be on sale for 15% off for one day only. This Sell-a-Stamp Spooktacular includes all single and stamp sets except for hostess sets, bundled stamps sets, and digital brush sets. So how can you take advantage of this sale??? Well, one way is you can purchase your stamps from my website here and have your items shipped to you direct. Another way is to call, text, or e-mail me your order and I can submit the order for you. Either way, don't miss this opportunity to pick up those stamps you've had on your wish list!!! Remember, one day only on Monday, October 29th! Thanks for stopping by!

Thursday Already??

Hello everyone! I can't believe it's Thursday already! This week, no, this whole month is just flying by. I know,  in just a couple of weeks it's Halloween, then Thanksgiving, and....never mind. I don't want to even go there yet. ;) But I guess since I've been working on some holiday cards I already am going there! lol I wanted to share one of the cards that my ladies will be making tomorrow night at our monthly workshop. October's SU! promotion includes the ornament bundle (stamp and die set), designer paper, and  the paper piercing pack.  It really is an adorable set and definitely gets you in the Christmas spirit. I really liked the simplicity of this card, even though there's a lot of elements to it. I think the ladies are going to have fun with this one. I hope you have a great evening and I thank you for stopping by!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla
DSP: Candlelight Christmas Specialty
Festive Paper Piercing Pack

Happy World Card Making Day!!!!

Hello everyone!! How is your Saturday going? Are you going to be crafting today in celebration of World Card Making Day? I know I am. Got my chores done early and have a pot roast in the slow cooker so I don't have to worry about cooking, and the rest of the day will be spent in my favorite room in the whole world!!! lol DH says it's a good thing I don't have a fridge in there, cuz he'd never see me!! Little does he know, it's on my list of things to get!!! hehe So, in honor of WCMD I'm sharing this card I made for one of my customers. I used the retired Totally Tess stamp set from SU!, which I think is perfect for a demonstrator. I'm keeping this short so I can go play too, so much to do, so little time!! lol Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!!!

Happy Thursday!

Hello everyone, how's your week going? Mine was a week of Mondays, but that's ok, I survived and my weekend begins! I wanted to share the other 2 projects earlier, but you know how "Mondays" can be!
So, since Halloween is coming, you know I had to make something with orange/black. Don't you just love the spooky crow? It doesn't show well, but I used the Cherry Cobbler Dazzles for his eye as well as the gate. This stamp set, Toxic Treats, is from the Holiday Catalog. The background is made with the Distressed Dots stamp. I think when I created all three projects I was in a polka dot mood, because each one had dots of some sort. I also used the Window Frames die for the stamp and a trip of the new Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP.
Here's the 3rd project, see the embossed mat? Love the dots!! We dry embossed with white embossing powder on Whisper White cardstock using the Field Flowers stamps. Then sponged on some Baja Breeze ink. Had to the pearls for bling! The girls definitely enjoyed making these cards. Well, I hope you have a great rest of your evening and that you get to do something crafty this weekend! Thank you for stopping by!!

Treats for Boo!

Hello everyone! How's your weekend going? I wanted to share one of the projects from my workshop I held last night. We had a great time last night. I had planned on taking pictures, but forgot...can't  believe that, had the camera out and ready and never even thought about it! :( Oh well. So here's one of the projects we made last night and I'm going to enter it into my friend Diana's Thankful Thursday Challenge. It's been awhile since I've entered and since we made an owl, I thought it was perfect.
I saw this create by another demonstrator and knew I had to make it. There are so many demonstrators that create punch art and I thought this was an easy pattern try for the first time. It's made using the Top Note Die. I also used The mini scalloped punch from the Holiday Catalog and  stamp set from the Holiday Catalog. Even the beak was created with a punch. The girls had a blast making these too. In this picture I filled the gift bag with yogurt covered pretzels, but the girls had a bag of Halloween candy to pick from. I  will post the other 2 projects that they made later. Thank you for stopping by and have a great rest of your evening.

Sunday Afternoon and a New Challenge Blog

Hello hello!!! How's your weekend been so far? Mine has been productive once again. Actually got into my scrap room and played, a lot! :) I have a workshop coming up on Friday and I got all 3 of my projects prepped and ready to go. They turned out sooooo cute!! I will definitely post pictures of them soon. But in the mean time, I found a new challenge blog that has their first challenge going on right now. It's called Black Tie Friday. They have some talented ladies that have posted some cute projects for their first challenge. I missed not playing along in challenges since I've become a Stampin' Up demonstrator, but only because I don't have more hours in a day...see, that work thing just gets in the way!! lol ;) So, for the first challenge it's the 3 B's, black base, black ribbon, and a butterfly. And it seems that I had a polka dot thing going on too. lol But I really like how it turned out.

I thought the card needed a pop of color, so I added the blue butterfly and ink.

Here's the inside of the card. I know most people don't show the inside, but I like to share it when I have a chance. Well, I thank you for stopping by and hope you have a great evening, and when you have a chance, stop by Black Tie Friday and link up your creation!

Never Forget!

Good morning all! Just a quick post. I know I posted this card last year, but I had to post it again. I think of Alan Jackson's song "Where Were You?" which is the perfect tribute song. The lyrics are spot on and the video brings you to tears. I hope that during your busy day today you take a moment to remember. Have a blessed day my friends.

End of the Weekend

Hello everyone! Here we are at the end of another weekend. They go by so fast, don't they?  DD#2 saw a poster that had the phrase "How come Friday is so far away from Monday, and Monday is so close to Friday?" It really made me giggle since I feel the same way. It's been a very fun and productive weekend for me. Enjoyed our anniversary on Friday, got some chores done, canned some tomatoes and made some salsa, and got my house decorated for fall. Phew, I'm tired!!  :) The only thing I didn't get to do was craft, but that's ok, I'll get in there soon. Well, since our anniversary has passed I can share the card I made for DH.

I bought him a smoker for his anniversary present and thought this card worked perfectly. I've been waiting to make a masculine card so I could try using some embossing on plumber's tape. One of my ladies brought it to the crop we had and gave me some. It works great and the best part, it's already got adhesive on it!! :) Talk about re-purposing!! lol She used it with a snowflake embossing folder and it was adorable! Well, I hope you enjoy what's left of your weekend and I thank you for taking a moment and stopping by. Have a great week!

Cardstock, ink, framelits:  Stampin' Up

27 years ago today....

Hello everyone! Welcome to the weekend! I have had such a great day today. See, today is our 27th anniversary! woo hoo!! We took a short overnight road trip down to Sacramento. DH was even patient while I browsed through Green Tangerines scrapbook store in  Rocklin. Of course that was after spending over 2 hours at the music store. Ahhh, the life of a groupie!! lol  I thought I'd share a couple of pics from that beautiful day. Now no judging :) I didn't scan these, just took pictures of the original pictures...so lazy, but hey, I was in a hurry!! lol
This is DD #1 who was 4 when we got married. She was such an adorable flower girl, and she had a lot of practice back then. I think she was in at least 3 weddings that year.
Not sure who took this one, but that's my Dad giving Missy a boost so she could see what was happening. Such a cute shot!!
My wonderful parents and of course, the bride! lol
This is one of my favorites....I'm such a Daddy's girl!!
The new family!! Just a few pics of the happiest day of my life. Thank you for stopping by and letting me share some of my memories. I hope you have a great weekend!

Back to the grind....

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed mine. Got some housework done, did some cooking, spent time with DH and even got some scrapping done! woo hoo! Lately it seems that when I'm in there I'm prepping for my next workshop, not a bad thing mind you, but I miss the "for fun" type playing some times. So since I didn't take any photos of the pages I scrapped, I thought I'd share the cards we made at my last workshop.
This card was made using the Perfectly Preserved Bundle, Itty Bitty Framelits, Chevron Embossing Folder, Designer Buttons, Lucky Limeade and Rich Razzleberry card stock, and Designer Series Paper Summer Smooches.
This card was made using some of the new In Color Midnight Muse Card stock, ink, and ribbon, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Modern Label and Elegant Butterfly punchs, and the new Papillon Potpourri stamp set. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tine Wishes stamp set.

And the third card was made using Island Indigo card stock, ink, and bakers twine, the lighter ink is Pool Party, the stamp sets are Flowering Flouirshes and Fabulous Phrases, and the button is a new Vintage Faceted Designer button. As you can see, we had a busy night!

Well, I thank you for taking a moment and stopping by for a visit and I hope you have a great week. It's always so hard to get back to the grind after such a great weekend. But on the bright side? It's that much closer to the next weekend!! lol Have a great evening!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Hello everyone, how is your weekend going? It's hard to believe that today is September 1 already. This year is just flying by. So I wanted to share the card I made for my sister's birthday, which is tomorrow. She called earlier to say she received it, and loved it of course (lol) so it's safe for me to share! I tried to do something different and I think I accomplished that with this card. I really enjoyed making it and I'm hoping that I can broaden my style some by making more like this. I know this is short, but I wanted to get this posted before the weekend is over. :) Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great holiday weekend!

Supplies:

Cardstock, ink, and tag punch from Stampin' Up!
Pattern paper, doily, and chipboard from 3 Birds
Twine from stash
Sentiment stamps from PBD

Monday Evening

Wow, can't believe it's been so long since I posted! It's unbelievable how much life gets in the way of play time! ;) I hope you are having a good start to your week. We have several fires burning in the area so it's extremely smokey here. I have to say that my thoughts and prayers are for those that are in these fires paths. With it being so hot and dry, it doesn't take much for the fires to take off. So since it's so smokey here that it's just best to stay in, perfect excuse to craft (after work of course!). I finished prepping two projects for my workshop for Friday and had a couple extra minutes to work on some personal stuff. I needed to make a sympathy card for a friend that lost her dad. I struggle with these kinds of cards, but they are even more important as far as I'm concerned, because you want to convey so much to the recipient. Well, I better finish this post, the Giants are playing the Dodgers and I don't want to miss it. It's a tough one for me to watch, I'm a Giants fan since we live in No. CA, but since I grew up in LA I've always been partial to the Dodgers I'll have to share a layout I made of DH and me when we were in SF at a game. We both wore our colors!! lol Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

Supplies:

Card stock, ink, and punch - Stampin' Up!
Stamps - 3 Birds and My Craft Spot

Crop 'n Christmas Cards

Hello everyone! Just wanted to post some pics from the crop I had with some of the ladies. We had a blast! I went to the Dollar Store to pick up some table cloths and thought I might be able to find something Christmasy since all my decorations are in the garage. Well, nothing for Christmas yet, I know, big surprise, but I did find some luau decorations, and they had such fun colors too! So with this in mind, someone mentioned we should watch the movie "Blue Hawaii", but I didn't have that, but had "Donovan's Reef" with John Wayne. I'm a HUGE JW fan, and since it was filmed in Hawaii and takes place at Christmas....bingo! Perfect movie for our crop!!! :) I'm one that likes to have the TV on when I scrap, but I like it to be something I've seen before so I don't have to really concentrate on it.

As you can tell in the pics, I really had to move my furniture around to accommodate the tables. Thank goodness for laminate floors!! lol Also, you can see we didn't starve!! :) I hope you like the pics, I learned how to set my timer and am actually in the group picture, lei and all!! Thank you so much for stopping by...enjoy the rest of your evening.
