Tuesday Evening

Hello everyone, how's your Tuesday going? It's always busy after a 3-day weekend, but that's ok, keeps life interesting. I made this card for a coworker who is going through some very tough times. When you see others struggling with life's ups and downs, it makes you realize how fragile life really is and to appreciate what we have in our lives for however long we are here on this Earth. These cards can be a struggle at times, but this one came together pretty quickly. Maybe because it's so simple. The hardest part was distressing the bottom layer. I used a very dull pair of scissors, which worked well, but makes me feel like I'm scratching my nails on a chalkboard. Guess I should look into one of those distressing tools! ;) I used Stampin' Up and Bazzil cardstock, and a piece of patterned paper that I bought as a single sheet from JoAnn's and the sentiment stamps are from Pink By Design. And the ribbon is from Michael's. I hope you have a great evening, and I thank you for stopping by.

The Liebster Award

Happy Friday everyone!! Has it been a busy week or what?!? ;) Well, to my surprise, I was nominated for the Leibster Award by Divinity over at Scrap 'n Patch. Thank you so much Divinity!! This is the second time I've been nominated for this and feel very blessed to have been chosen again. A little info on the Liebster Award, this award is meant for the blogs in Blog Land that have 200 or less followers. As part of the tradition the award is passed along to five other blogs that have motivated and inspired me. It comes from the German meaning dearest or beloved but can also mean favorite. To accept the award you must:

1. Link back to the person's blog who gave it to you and thank them.
2. Post the award to your blog
3. Give the award to 5 bloggers (less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value
4. Leave a comment on the five blogs you chose to let them know

So here are the 5 blogs I have chosen to pass this award on to:

1. Karen at Crafted With Love By Karen
2. Sharon at In the Big Blue House
3. Stephanie at Once Upon a Paper
4. Stephanie at Scrappy Rae 10
5. Jennifer at Country Cricut

Each of these ladies are very talented and show off their wonderful projects on their blogs. Thank you ladies for all your inspiration, it is always a pleasure for me to stop by your blogs. Please take a moment and stop each of their blogs and show them some love because I know you'll enjoy your visit as much as I do! And one more thing, I see that I have finally reached 200 followers, so stop by later this weekend when I will announce the winner of the Michael's gift card. Have a great evening and thanks again Divinity!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Good morning everyone!! Happy Valentine's Day!! I wanted to share the card I made the love of my life. I found this cute Penny Black hedgehog stamp on HSN and just had to get it. As some of you know, DH is in a band called TC and the Hedgehogs, so now the hunt is on for everything hedgehog! lol I used a combination of Zig and SU markers on it and of course some Stickles for the water and some chalking for the sky. The paper is from Martha Stewart, cardstock is SU and Recollections, and the ribbon is from Michael's as are the heart doilies.
The stamp sentiments are from Scrappy Moms and stamped with SU Real Red ink. So to celebrate my card I thought I'd enter it into the Valentine's challenge at CTO. I hope you enjoy the card and that you have a fantastic Valentine's Day! Thank you for stopping by today, I really appreciate all my visitors and their comments!! Share some time with your love today and let them know how special they are to you, I know I am! :)

Happy Birthday Nerbie!

Hello all and Happy Friday!!! Sunday will be DD #2's birthday and we're having dinner at her house later. I just had to share the cake and the card for her. The cake is from the same bakery that baked my beautiful Birki's cake. You can see it here. I e-mailed them some pictures of a couple of scrapbook pages I had created so he could get some ideas. This is supposed to be a stack of scrapbook paper with the top sheet as a page being created. I LOVE it!!!
Now I know you're wondering what's up with "Nerbie", right?? It's a nickname her boyfriend gave her which is a combination of Nerd and Barbie. I'm not sure why he chose Barbie since she's not much of a frilly girl, but the nerd part came into play cuz she's always dinking around on her computer and loves all things techie. And since she's just getting into scrapbooking, I decided to create the card using both ideas. I used my Cricut Everyday cartridge and the stamp sets are from Pink By Design. All the papers are from my stash. I used my Stampin' Up punches and ink, Prima Flower, and some Glossy Accents on the computer monitor and iphone. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!!

Thankful Thursday at D.L. Art

Hi everyone! How's your weekend so far? You would never know it's winter here, but that's ok, I'm enjoying the sunshine. So my friend Diana over at D.L. Art has a challenge on Thursdays called Thankful Thursday that I have been meaning to upload to for a few weeks, but never seem to get it done. Well, this week's challenge is Anything Goes. Yay! Love those kind!!!! I decided to show the artwork on my scrap room door, my very favorite place to spend time in!!!
I made the scrap room sign about 4 or 5 years ago when I was able to "move in" to this room. I bought the frame at Michael's and used some of my tole painting skills on it. I decoupaged some scrapbook paper, added some vinyl lettering cut on my Cricut, some chipboard shapes and buttons and ta daaa!!!
Then the plaque below it was given to me by DD #2 for my birthday. She found this a craft fair and knew with the blue (my favorite color) flowers that it was perfect for my room. So, if you have a chance, go on over to Diana's and upload something for her Anything Goes!! Have a great weekend and as always, thanks for stopping by!!!
