Another Scrappy Mom's Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone! It's been cold and foggy here today, a perfect day to stay in and play in my room! This wasn't the first card I made for this challenge. After I finished that card I kept looking at it and decided I was not happy at all with it, sooooo, it was back to the drawing board. I like the way this one turned out so much more. The challenge was to use the Sweethearts cartridge where I found these cute champagne glasses  I used my Gypsy, not to do any welding or anything, but used the layers feature to measure everything. I really liked how that worked. The card base is from the Wild Card cartridge. The pattern paper is from Anna Griffin, which I just received in the mail from HSN. The sentiment stamp is from Scrappy Moms, ribbon from Michael's, cardstock from Recollection, and of course, STICKLES!!! Love that stuff!!! Well, thank you for stopping by and I hope you like my card.

Almost the Weekend! :)

Happy Thursday! Hope everyone has been having a good week. I have had a good one, although I have tried every day to get into my room and make a card for another challenge over at Scrappy Moms.  Ever had those kind of weeks? Good thing I've got the weekend to work on it. DH was checking out my blog the other day and asked when I was going to post a layout. His comment was "after all, that's what got you started in this obsession of yours, right?" Sooooo, here's one from our anniversary trip to the Oregon Coast last September. Wish I could take all the credit for it, but I can't. The paper is actually from an Anna Griffin scrapbook kit I bought on HSN last year. I did add the lighthouse and seagull stamped images though. I LOVE Anna's papers and kits. The pictures are of Heceta Head Lighthouse just north of Florence, Oregon. They were in the process of painting it and cleaning it up. The kit came with some premade pages as well as papers to complete your own. I hesitated on ordering it, but I'm glad I did. Well hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by!

Cardz TV Cupcake Challenge

Hello everyone. Hope you all are having a good Sunday. I just wanted to share the card I made for Mary's challenge on her blog, Cardz TV. She is such a nice lady and makes the cutest cards! Her challenge was to make a project using a a cupcake. This was my first gate fold card and I really like the way it turned out. I used my Celebrations cartridge for the cake plate and the cupcake. The card base was made using Bazzill cardstock, as was the cardstock layer for each of the panels. The patterned paper was from DCWV and the layer beneath that is from Recollections. The cake plate was made using some glitter paper from DCWV. The sentiment stamp was from Scrappy Moms stamps. The glitter on the top of the cupcake was some from my stash that I bought from the Scrapbook Expo in Sacramento 3 years ago. Gotta use the old stuff too! lol  Hope you like the card and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Phew! Made it to Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a long week...even though I only worked 3 days!  ;)  It seems like the short work weeks are the hardest to get through when the time off is at the beginning. Another good thing about today was the weather. A nice sunny 73 degrees, gotta love this kind of weather in January! Usually it's raining and 40's and 50's, so we'll enjoy it while we can. Well here's a card I just made for a friend from work. I used my Create a Critter cartridge (LOVE that cartridge), Recollection cardstock, DCWV pp that I've had for a long time but still really like, some pearls from Michael's, Martha Stewart deep edge punch, and the sentiment stamp from My Pink Stamper. Guess I better run, time to make dinner then off to our monthly Stampin' Up card workshop. Gonna be a fun night, I just know it! Take care.

Great Day Off

Hello everyone!! Yesterday was DH's birthday and since he had to work I decided to take today off to spend with him on his day off. Smart move, since it was 72 degrees! :) We took the bikes out to ride on the newest section of the Sacramento River Trail. Great ride heading out, but uphill on the way back...makes you realize in hurry how you're not a kid any more!! Any way, back to work tomorrow. Thought I'd post another card that I made yesterday while having a scrap day with DD. She commented late yesterday afternoon that she couldn't believe how the day flew by while playing. lol But anyway, I used my Stampin' Up stamps for the tree and owl, sentiment stamp from My Pink Stamper, Recollection cardstock, patterned paper from 3 birds, American Craft ribbon, Martha Stewart bakers twine, and Pebbles chalk for the background. Hope you like it!!

Cards for Charlie

Hi everyone. Hope everyone had a really good day today. While checking blogs this morning, I saw a post on My Pink Stamper that I knew I had to act on. There's a little boy that has a rare skin condition and someone asked that we flood his mailbox with cards. He's only 4 and it would be very nice if everyone could do just that. Here's a link for more info onit.

http://www.cricutcraftsbyangela.blogspot.com/

Here's the card I made for Charlie using the Create a Critter cartridge, DCWV patterned paper, My Pink Stamper's stamp, face stamp from Peachykeen stamps, cardstock from Recollection, and of course, Stickles. (love my stickles!!) Hope you like the card and can brighten a little boy's day.

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone has had great Monday! Here's a card I made for a challenge with My Pink Stamper. Love all her videos and cards! The challenge was to make a winter card using your cricut. I just cut a simple little penguin. Hope you like her with her little pink and green hat.

I am in the process of editing my posts to move all my cards within the posts. This post was originally from August, how I moved it to today's post is beyond me. See what happens with a newbie?? lol oh well, this is all a big learning curve. Hope you enjoy the card. I'll post again later with another card. Enjoy your day!

Fun Sunday

Hello all! Hope your Sunday was good. I actually had time to play a little in my room. After I made the yummy orange-chocolate cake for DD and DH birthday dinner, I ran in to try and get a jump start on my Valentine cards. I found the Immortal Love matstack by DCWV at Joann's a week or so ago and just had to use it today. I know I'll be making plenty more with it. My DD number 3 got me into the Twilight Saga and of course I couldn't pass this stack up. I saw the Edward stamp last year over on the Scrappin Navy Wife's blog and the sentiment stamp was from Artfulinkable.com. There's all kinds of names and comments from the movies in the set. I colored Edward with my Stampin' Up pencils. I don't own any Copics yet, but they are definitely on my wish list. Hope you like my card. TFL!

Don't you just love Saturdays??

Happy Saturday! Definitely one of my favorite days of the week! Hope everyone had a good week this week. It was definitely a busy one around here. I've been wanting to get into my room and make this card for the Terrific Tuesday challenge over at Scrappy Mom's, but just couldn't get through all the "have to do first" things. Why is it that list is sooooo long? ;) It definitely gets in the way of playing in my room!!! Tomorrow we're celebrating DD and DH's birthdays, so maybe not a lot of time to play. But Monday DD and I plan to have a scrap day. Should be lots of fun!! Any how, here is the card I made for the challenge. The challenge was to use the Birthday Bash or a similar cartridge. Since I don't have the Birthday Bash cartridge, I used my Simply Charms cartridge instead. Such a cute cartridge! I used a piece from my new Dots and Plaids matstack from DCWV as my background. LOVE it! And of course, HAD to use Stickles on the card, just wouldn't be one of my cards without it!! Hope you like it! TFL!!

I did it!

Ok, so now you can tell I'm a total newbie at this blog thing, but I finally figured out how to add buttons to some of the blogs I follow!! Yay!!! I know, it's the little things in life that make us happy. My middle daughter gave me the Blogger for Dummies book for Christmas and I've been thumbing through it. Guess some of it has been sinking in! She'll be so proud! lol Hopefully in the next few weeks I can do a makeover on my little blog and when it grows up it'll be like the big kids!! :) Thanks for being patient with me and have a great day!

Cold and Foggy Saturday

Was it cold and foggy for you today? It was a cold one here today, but that's ok, I was enjoying it from my warm and cozy scrap room. Well, not the whole day, had to get laundry done and finish putting away Christmas decorations. The holidays seemed to go by in such a hurry this year. But then in our house we have 2 birthdays back to back right after the new year, DH and DD. Cannot believe that DD is going to be 30!! Yikes! where has the time gone?? I know I'm still in my 20's, don't know about you!! ;) Any how, here's the card I made for her and also the card I made for DH who had just gotten back into a band after 25 years. You know how boys and their toys are! lol Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps from Scrappy Moms

Lovin' the Sunshine!

Hello all! I hope everyone had a good day today, cuz here in Redding the sun was out with beautiful blue skies. A little chilly, but lots of sun! After work today I went to Joann's with the intent to buy a spool of thread. Weeellll, as usual, that wasn't the only thing I bought! lol Of course I walked through the scrapbook stuff! Found some DCWV mat stacks, one that was of Christmas glitter, only $2.25!! Then I found one of the new Stripes and Dots, so cute!! And of course I had to buy the Immortal Love, which is too much like Twilight!!!! LOVE it!!!! Can't wait to make my Valentine cards using that! When I got home I made an anniversary card for my best girlfriend from high school. Her and her hubby, another good friend from high school, are celebrating their first. Here's the recipe:

Recollection Cardstock
Patterned paper from DCWV
ribbon from Michael's
Stamp is from Inkadinkado
Nestabilities for scallop circles

Happy Monday, even though it's almost over! Back to work after the holidays, made me realize how nice it was to have some time to "play" in my room over the weekend. I submitted my card over at My Pink Stamper for her design team challenge, so now it's wait and see. I was looking at some of the entries and all I can say is WOW! There are some really cute entries!! All I can say is at least I sent mine in, and it's all good experience, right?? :) In the mean time, here's a card I made over the holidays, hope you like it. Here's the recipe:

Recollection Cardstock

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's 1/1/11!!! Hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Years Eve last night. We got to ring in the new year with snow! It was beautiful, at least when I got up! LOL we didn't actually stay up for it, we tried to stay up, but getting up at 3 in the morning makes it hard to stay up til midnight! But it was pretty when we got up this morning!! Well, my new years resolution is to post more often. My darling middle daughter got me 2 books on blogging for Christmas to help me out. Soooo, hopefully it'll help. Enjoy the day and let's make this the best year ever!!!
