Hey everyone!!! So I've been MIA again, but only because I've had so much going on in my life. The month of May was a whirlwind in our house. Besides all of that, my beautiful daughter (DD#2) has been busy creating a new website for me. After 5 years here at blogspot.com, I'm moving on. Say good bye to scrapsbysissy.blogspot.com and hello to scrapsbysissy.com! Thank you so much for all your visits over the last 5 years.I look forward to many more visits at my new site. Kelly did a wonderful job on the site and I couldn't be more proud. Also, if any of you are looking to update your site or create a new one, please feel free to contact her at kellylynnettedesigns.com. Her site is in the process of getting a face lift too after their relocation (and spending so much time on her Momma's site), so email her at info@kellylynnettedesigns.com. You won't be sorry!!
Thanks again and I'll see you at my new site!!!

Another Sunday Evening and a Sneak Peak
Hey everyone! Did you know that yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day? After doing my usual Saturday morning chores, you know, cleaning house, laundry, etc, I did spend some time in my room. Scrapbooking was what started my paper crafting obsession, so I thought it only right to get a couple of pages done.
As you know, last year Becky Higgins collaborated with Stampin' Up! and brought some items to the catalog. Being the good little demonstrator that I am, I bought quite a few items, but yesterday is the first chance I've had to play.
This page was created using some non-Stampin' Up! items with the Project Life items. I really had a good time creating these two pages of a trip to San Francisco to see the Giants and the Dodgers.
Now for a sneak peak of the new In-Colors that will be in the 2015 catalog.
Woo hoo!!!! The catalog goes life June 2nd. I am really looking forward to sharing all the fun things that are coming!
I hope you had a good weekend, and I thank you for stopping by.
Supplies Used:
Project Life Everyday Adventure Card Collection and Accessory Pack
Stamp Sets: Project Life Day to Day, Really Good Greetings, Best. Day. Ever., Baseball from Recollections
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tangelo Twist
Tools: Super 8 punch WRMK
Cardstock: Tangelo Twist, Basic Black, Whisper White, Black Swiss Dot from Bazzill

Well, I hope you have a good evening and I thank you for stopping by.

To You From Me, Saying Goodbye, and Weekly Deals
Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Just wanted to share a thank you card I made. This card was adapted from the 3 x 3 thank yous I made for my April Workshop orders. The sketch was from a challenge over at Stampin' Gals Gone Wild on Facebook.
I also wanted to share the news that Stampin' Up! released their Retired List on Tuesday. There are items up to 50% off while supplies last through June 2nd. You can go here to check out all the retiring items. If there's something you've had your eye that is on this list, you better hurry before it sells out.
And last but not least, this week's deals. There are quite a few items from the current Occasions Catalog in this week's deals.
There's a lot going on this week. I hope you see something you like. Have a good week, and I thank you for stopping by!

Congrats! and Weekly Deals
Hey everyone! How was your Wednesday? I wanted to share a card that we will be creating Friday at our workshop and share the Weekly Deals at Stampin' Up!
I made this card before the Weekly Deals were posted and coincidentally enough, I used the Labels Collection Framelits. I was pretty excited to see them on the deal list! That never happens. lol
I saw another demonstrator post a card similar to this and really fell in love with the technique on the label. She called it the crackle technique. You just take some plastic wrap and crumble it into a ball using it like a stamp. Then stamp randomly on your cardstock. LOVE it! I used all the chalk inks that are in the Occasions Catalog for some variety. And since I was feeling inky, I got out the Stars Decorative Mask to create a background paper and added some Dazzling Details to the stars for some bling. The word Congrats was heat embossed in black and added some of the 1/4" black taffeta ribbon. I had a lot of fun making this.
Here are this week's deals:
I hope you like my card and if you see anything in the deals selection, don't hesitate to grab it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a nice evening.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride
Ink: Blushing Bride, Versamark, Colorbox Chalk Inks Aquarmarine, Rose Coral and Yellow Citrus
Framelits: Labels Collection
Stamp set: Bravo photopolymer
Black Embossing Powder
Dazzling Details
Black 1/4" Taffeta Ribbon

Happy Sunday!
Hey everyone! Hope you had a good weekend. It was a busy one around here, but they usually are. I just don't know how to sit and relax!! :)
I wanted to share a card I made for a Facebook challenge with Stampin' Gals Gone Wild. And since I was creating samples for my upcoming workshop coming up on Friday, thought this was perfect timing!
The challenge was a sketch challenge, which I love. I don't have to decide what to create, just what I'm going to create with. I wanted to use some of the Occasions Catalog items, but using something I haven't seen posted. This is from the Painted Blooms Designer Paper which is beautiful. Most people use all the pretty flowered paper with purples, blues, and pinks, but this page with the leaves seemed so calming to me. That and it seemed to go with scene in the Moon Lake stamp set. I thought this stamp set was perfect for watercoloring. The Aqua Painters by SU! really make it easy to create something that looks like absolutely gorgeous. (if I do say so myself lol) This whole scene makes me want to head to the lake.
I hope you like the card. I'm pretty sure my gals are going to have fun with this one. Thank you for stopping by, have a great week!
Supplies used:
Ink: Soft Suede, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Black Stazon
Card stock: Pool Party, Soft Suede, Watercolor Paper
DSP: Painted Blooms
Tools: Aqua Painters
Embelishments; Candy Dots and Dazzling Details

Happy Monday....Just Kidding!
Hey everyone! How has your Monday been? Mondays back to work are always tough after really good weekends, aren't they? I thought the title of this post was pretty cute, especially since I'm going to share a card I made using the new photopolymer stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Just Kidding. I know, har har, good pun! lol
I made this for one of my very oldest (she's gonna kill me hehe) and "bestest" friends. We've been friends for 40 years! Yes, we were just toddlers. lol Seriously, we met in high school and even though more than 700 miles separate us, we have kept in touch all these years. I shared SU!'s FB post when this set was released and she commented "I'm getting this card for my birthday, aren't I?" Now I can't pass that up, can I?
Here's the inside of the card. I absolutely LOVE this set, it is so much fun!! There are just so many different ways to use it. Don't you love versatile sets? Nothing better than stretching your crafting dollars!
I colored the image with the now discontinued Blendabilities. I am really bummed that Stampin' Up! had to do that, but I am really impressed that they made that decision. I am very confident that they will find a solution and bring back some sort of alcohol marker.
Well, I hope you like my card, I'm pretty sure she's going to like it :) I am also entering this in the Fab Friday 60 challenge.
Have a great week and I thank you for stopping by.
Supplies all Stampin' Up!:

Designer Series Paper: Birthday Bash
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Blendabilities - discontinued
Ribbon: Daffodil Delight 1/4" Cotton Ribbon

Sunday Evening
Hey everyone! How was your weekend? We've been super busy between work, family, and finishing up on our remodel, not to mention dealing with bronchitis. Yuck. Been a really bad year for everyone with this stuff, but I'm hoping I've gotten past the worse of it.
I wanted to share a non-Stampin' Up! card I made for a very close friend of ours. He turned 60 and I just couldn't pass up using my Cricut.
I haven't played with my Cricut in a really long time. It was one of the first big purchases I made for crafting. Whenever I make something with my Cricut I try to use up my scraps, and this card helped use up quite a bit. :)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good rest of your evening.
Supplies:
Cricut Cartridges: Life is a Party and Paper Doll Dress Up
Basic Black and Wild Wasabi Ink from Stampin' Up!
Stamp Sets from Scrappy Moms and unknown
All card stock from scrap supplies

Happy March!
Hey everyone! How was your weekend? I'm still getting over bronchitis, so I've been laying low. I just wanted to share the cards we made at our February workshop.
The top card was created using the Bokeh effect. The girls really enjoyed it, very inky!! :) The other two cards were cased from fellow demos.
I know this is really short, I just wanted to pop in and share some fun. As usual, I'm running late for work. lol *sigh* someday maybe I'll get to stay home and "play" all day!!! I hope you have a really good week!! Take care and thanks for stopping by!

Monday Afternoon
Hey everyone! I know I've been MIA again, but I wanted to share a couple of pictures that will explain it.
So last September we had a water cooler leak on our dining room laminate floor which resulted in mold that got behind our kitchen cabinets. (you can see the new cooler in the picture below standing where the original cooler was) Not fun. In fact, I was pretty upset knowing what was ahead of us, especially with the holidays coming. Well, we knew we didn't want to be living in a construction zone during the holidays, so we had a company contain the mold and held off on the repairs until January. Here is the end result with my kitchen.
The cabinet over the microwave now has some new doors over it and the dining/living room is in the process of getting the new flooring this week. So to say I've been a little busy with life is an understatement! :)
So while the flooring contractors were here today, I locked myself in my scrap room with the dogs and prepped all my projects for my February Workshop that is scheduled for this Friday. A very good distraction, even with all the noise.
I was practicing a new technique that we'll be doing Friday and here is the end result.
I know the color in the picture isn't the best, but I couldn't find my camera. The background was created using a technique called Bokeh. From what I understand, it's a photography term and a lot of people are doing this. It's actually a lot of fun. I'll be sure to share the ones from Friday night's workshop so you can see another color combo.
I hope you have enjoyed your President's Day. For those of you back east, I hope you are staying safe and warm. Doesn't look good for you and I really wish you could send some of that moisture our way! Have a good evening and I thank you for stopping by.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Back to Black
Ink: Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black

Sunday Evening
Hey everyone! Did you have a good weekend? We had a busy one. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and living in chaos. But the end result will be worth it. :) I just wanted to share a card I made when I first received the Butterfly Thinlits and coordinating stamp set, Butterfly Basics.
When I think of butterflies, I always think of bright colors, so I wanted to create something with this in mind. I cut out the butterfly in black and then used it as a stencil and traced it on a scrap of Shimmery White card stock. Then I used some daubers and starting with the lightest color, Daffodil Delight, I just randomly daubed some on. Then I did the same with Melon Mambo and Island Indigo. Then I tried to glue them together, but I was too impatient to wait for the Mono glue to dry. So I ran the die cut butterfly through the Xyron and adhered it to the Shimmery White. Patience is not one of my virtues sometimes. :) I stamped the flowers with Soft Sky on the Soft Sky card stock to give it a shadow effect because I wanted the focus on the butterfly. This set is so fun to play with! And the best part is, you can buy them as a bundle and save 15% woohoo!!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

Thinking of You
Hey everyone! Happy Saturday. Hope your weekend is going well. I'm finally feeling better and getting back in my room, which is always a happy day for me. I needed to make a sympathy card and thought I'd share it. I'm not sure which is harder at times, masculine or sympathy cards.
I cased this from another demonstrator's site and fell in love with it. It just seems so peaceful to me. I did change it up a little and added a little bling just to give the water a "sparkling waves" effect.
I didn't see what was done on the inside, but this is what I came up with. I always try to bring in something from the front of the card to the inside to tie it all together. For some reason I just can't seem to just stamp a sentiment on the inside. I hope the person I made this for feels the hugs that are included with this card.
Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. I will spending the rest in my scrap room getting ready for a workshop next Friday. Not a bad way to spend my day. :) Take care, and thank you for stopping by.
Supplies:
Card stock: Whisper White and Soft Sky
Ink: Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Smoky Slate

Another Birthday Card
Hey everyone! How has your Wednesday been? I was lucky enough to catch a cold from DH and it is kicking my behind. I ended up staying home and after taking my temp, looks like another day home. Staying home sounds good, but I really HATE being sick...not a good patient at all! Oh well, thank goodness for tissues and hot tea.
Enough of that, in between naps I felt a little better and made DH a birthday card. His birthday is Saturday and hopefully this cold will be better by then. :)
It's a pretty simple card, but he likes my clean and simple style. If you look really close, you can see that I even got some bling on it! lol You know me and bling!
I know masculine cards can be a challenge, but this new stamp set in the Occasions Catalog makes it easy.
Oh, and before I forget, yesterday was Tuesday as you know, and the new Weekly Deals were made available. I loaded the pictures, but not sure how it's working....learning curve!! lol
